WWTBD?

Going to FRA for the *A Do. Have to be in MUC on Saturday morning for a Moderator meeting. Have some flexibility on the return. Would you stay over on Sunday night and fly out on Monday? The flight I'm booking leaves ~3:30pm so I'd have most the morning to tourist but I'm thinking that there is more to see in MUC. I just have no idea how much of it will be open on a Sunday.

Thoughts?

Your flight is currently not overbooked. The rest of the flights are nasty looking. Glad I''m not working in EWR today.

Is there any day that this is not true? :-:

So, you're asking us if a day's worth of photography is better than three hours' worth of photography?

I guess the flight isn't oversold by that much. Crazy. I would have done this even without the voucher.

EWR to IAH today is nasty, all day all flights. I see lots of bumping opportunities for everyone. I feel sorry for the EWR agents already.

Your flight is only over by 3.

When I went to MUC after the BRU DO, I arrived at 1:00 pm on a Monday and left at 3:00 pm the following day. I definitely would like to have had more time, and in Germany, it seems that everything is closed on Sunday except certain museums, many of which are closed on Mondays. I would stay until Monday if your schedule permits.

Thanks for the reminder ... I've got a dep:eek:sit to make :p ... and more coins to order!

Stay over -- have fun! There is a lot to see and do in MUC. I'm not sure what my schedule will be. We'll likely hoof it to CGN and fly back to EWR from DUS.

I hate the heat.:td: That said this summer has been the coolest (and wettest) that I remember. ^ If today is the hottest 'heat wave' of the year, I'll take it.:-:

Probably not. :D

On the other hand SFO was brutal last night (Sunday 8/9). All of our redeye flights were overbooked but only one oversold. We had a major snafu on the later EWR redeye. A party of 5 was attempting to checkin at the T-31 minute mark and the flight was restricted. 2 out of 5 got seats, the kiosks are the counter shutdown (due to the flight becoming restricted). We re-opened the flight so that they could finish checking in. They couldn't because the flight was overbooked and now their names went on the oversold list.

Meanwhile back at the boarding door, I was at the T-10 minute mark and ready to close the door for boarding when they ran up. The GA verified that only 2 seats were still open and the party elected not to split up.

While we were re-booking them it was discovered that one of them was on the no-fly list and never could have made the flight due to the time they started their check-in process.

Of course the customers didn't want to hear about any of this. They had never heard that there was a cut off time for checking in and/or boarding. I got quite an ear full from them.

Ya know, when you phrase it like that I do see how foolish my question was. :p

I normally wouldn't think twice but this time it means giving up a quite certain day of work - hard cash - and also possibly making my visit of a friend in LAX a bit more difficult. Not impossible, but not easy.

Still, I'm inclined to just stay. How bad could the other things be?

Your the second Brit I heard say that in the past 24 hours. Mowing the lawn this morning was not fun.

It will get much worse when the thunderstorms arrive later.

Can you do some work remotely?

Nooooooooooooo

I can't take another day of  at the office.
Between my mother's visit, my son's need to see his girlfriend and not wanting to do anything else he needs to take care of, my hate for being up in the morning with only 4 hours of restless sleep and the temps hitting 90+ today.....I'm already past cranky.
