I'd rather they total it, and just write me a check. But either way, I will get a new car. The 09 WRX is pretty nice, but it's still about $2,000 more than a Mazdaspeed3. I don't really need 4-wheel drive in Southern Cal or TX, and after 2 Subarus (or 3 if including my brief ownership of my parents' LGT), I want to try something else.

I thought about the Mazdaspeed3. But, when I took it for an aggressive test drive, the torque steer turned me off. I wonder if they have fixed that issue. I didn't want to go to the aftermarket to get a better differential for it. I wish Fiat/Chrysler would have the 500 Abarth here already. I could be up for some inexpensive Italian. With discounts and clearances, you may be able to get a '09 WRX for what the 3 costs. I know you don't need AWD anymore, but it's nice to have extra grip. Have you thought about the Evo? What about a 1 series BMW?

Sitting at ORD for my 20:00 flight. Since it's 20:12, and I'm posting from my phone, that means my flight's been delayed. Until 22:30. That means I'll arrive in SGF around 0:00, head to a hotel whose name I can't say (although there are two trees), and wake up at 6:00 for my 7:00a meeting. At least I'll have free booze to look forward to Monday night..

I got to watch all the delays today but my delays yesterday and today were much more interesting. Leaving from STL to IAH yesterday AM on CoEx (Chautauqua), our first officer on the flight never showed up. He was unreachable and 2.5 hours later, they had to fly a pilot from MSY to STL to get the plane to IAH. I came very close to losing all of my appointments for the day since I was on a return flight to STL at 5:45PM. There was a 7PM flight as well, but it was booked full (which by the way, it appeared all the Kenjets to STL from either CLE or IAH were. (So explain to me again why CO is using 50 passenger planes on these routes?). The people I really felt sorry for were all the connectors who missed their flights to multiple vacation sites.

So today I was going back to CLE from STL at 11:50AM. The flight from EWR (Kenjet) pulls in on time and voila, there is no flight crew at all to staff it. Apparently, someone forgot to schedule a crew to take this flight to CLE . So we sat and waited 2 hours until a crew on rest in town could be legally brought to the airport and man the plane. The pilot let us know that they were a replacement crew since they were suppose to off until 4:45 PM.

The ground crew at STL were fantastic. In fact, one person was so good I gave him a thank you card which had a $10 Starbucks card in it (I told him to open the card when he was off work at home). At least I did make it home by late afternoon.

I also love that my -3 hour text message said the flight was on time. I got to the airport at -1.5 hours. Still on time. Get through security, and bam, 2.5 hour delay due to late-arriving inbound.

I can understand why mine didn't work. How can you plan around flight crews that don't show for a flight?

mbm3, are you going to re-open weatherboy's thread? I would like to find out what happens to him.

"supposedly" powerbars are digested differently as opposed to the quick sugar fix of snickers.

I can't believe the amount of energy that people spend arguing issues, that if left alone, would not directly affect them. Spending time pondering these things gives me a headache, so I'm off to bed. 'Night Box!

Entourage starting ^, back in 30.

That's what I get for posting about a maxed card in this room . Actually, I put $2500 in coins on the Amex card about a week before I finalized the kitchen work which meant I could charge less on that card and had to put the balance on my Chase CO Visa (which I almost never use). After all this is paid off, I'm thinking about a $25,000 coin order :D

In this group, "only locals" means residents of this planet. Y'all will fly-drive-ride anywhere for some food, drinks, and to swap a few op-up stories....and I have absolutely no problem with that! :p

Don't feel too bad; after all, you did score some bonus points for the Mitch Hedberg reference. ^

I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughnut.....we don't need to bring paper into this transaction.

I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut.

They are the far, far better and more fun to watch jet display team...and this from a seven-year wearer of Air Force blue. This Air Force guy also wears the Citizen Eco-Drive Blue Angel edition, when the Thunderbird version was also available. :D

I was convinced when that poster first started coming around that he was the reincarnation of a certain other CO Forum legend who ran afoul of teh system.

I have Mitch all Together and Strategic Grill Locations. I'm also going to get the posthumous album if iTunes has it.

Just dropping in to say goodnight, Box.
