The Blackstone in Chicago has a TV in the mirror itself. Finding the remote next to the sink brought about "really?" and then once turned on it was delightful.

It's actually quite nice to be shaving/dressing with the weather/news/etc on and it visual range.

I think I remember someone talking about booking Virgin tickets EWR-LHR and it showing up as coach (I) but you are really in Business. Does this still apply when your ticket says this:

! There are no First/BusinessFirst/International Business Class seats available on CO8222 in the New York/Newark, NJ (EWR - Liberty) to London, England (LHR - Heathrow) market.

Then, you're normally just not staying at the right kind of hotels... :p

Personally, I prefer the TV to be built in to the mirror so it doesn't take up space on the vanity.

I just saw your post - what hotel is that from?

I just burnt a CR-1 to upgrade ORD-EWR. On a CR7.

But, it was for Mrs. bdj, and it was going to expire unused by the end of August (already have my upgradeable trips upgraded), so I earn brownie points. :-:

This happens all the time with award bookings on US.

The first time that I saw it I worked up a sweat getting to the phone to call the CP desk to find out if I had been downgraded. The soft tones of that angel in Carolina assured me that it was just a quirk of the website and not to worry.

Over the years I posted on quite a few panicked threads where the OP was out of his skull with worry. :)

Never going to give Continental.com my credit card information again:

You Asked: Is Continental.com a secure site?
Alex: The Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Homeland Security work together to ensure the safety of customers, civilians and the United States as a whole. To view regulations and procedures specific to these agencies, please follow the links below.

You Asked: Why do you give my credit card info to the TSA?
Alex: Continental is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy covers all Continental products and services, including our Web site.

You Asked: Are you kidding me?
Alex: I always do my best to answer your questions as accurately as possible.

got Alex to answer a few funny questions:

You Asked: do you smoke pot
Alex: I work very hard to stay as healthy as I can. This includes not doing drugs.

You Asked: do you have a #%*! top
Alex: Hey, let's keep this clean. Is there something about Continental that I can help you with?

#%*!=muffin top

You Asked: do you eat pink taco
Alex: Hey, let's keep this clean. Is there something about Continental that I can help you with?

You Asked: are you a freak in bed
Alex: I'm sorry you feel that way. Can I help you by answering any questions you have about Continental?

You Asked: do you ski
Alex: I'm always busy answering questions for our customers, which is kind of like a sport.

You Asked: have you ever been to prison
Alex: I like any vacation that saves me money and lets me earn OnePass miles.

You Asked: did michael jackson die
Alex: I like music from all over the world, but my all time favorite band has to be Jefferson Airplane

I just missed a chance at my upgrade tomorrow by eating one of the best dinners in years!

That is, as long as you like truffles :)

I ate at Bourbon Steak(and did not eat steak, I ate the best chicken breast I've had in years!)

It was supposed to be 3 courses, but the chef kept sending out things to me, same price....I'll take it :)

Timing of the whole matter :D

I was away dining when our Box Angel offered to fix it for me, but had a time frame to get to work....it was a great offer, but hey the whole trip was worth it for staying here now, even if I fly in Y. I don't mind Y to be honest.

colpuck Jul 21, 2009 8:44 pm

Can I book a reward on any VS flight out of the US or does it have to be the CO codeshares?

No. Don't waste their time or yours. They aren't equpiied to handle it and you'll just get bounced between them and co.com support with everyone insisting that you are on the list because they see you as EUA-eligible.

its 2-2.5 hours, not a big deal :)
I was in a datacenter, which is a calling deadzone, and now I am sitting in the hottub in a marble room that also seems to be a dead zone.

I have a whole row, I won't die :D

I have called the elite line exactly once, and that was once too many. I see no use of phones generally, unless someone is asking me tech questions and insists on the phone.
