Dollar coin-related discussion earlier today

icurhere2: Yes, I'm now trying to only spend the Jacksons I get; want to be a good Tennessean.
businessperson: He wasn't our best president.
icurhere2: It's been 172 years.

This looks like the uniform I wore when working for a PD in SE Bergen County

I have head that before. The operator should have just ignored that comment and sent an ambulance. They were both wrong, but send her the damn ambulance and deal with her later if need be. I get people telling me how they pay my salary all the time on the phone screaming  at me. I am tempted to correct them and let them know I work for a private hospital and not for them, but I do not wan't to end up on the news and Oprah

I did a standby for fireworks in our town a few weeks ago and a guy comes up to me and yells at me for leaving the ambulance running.

I explain that NYS DOH regulations state we must do so, for a variety of reasons and that we are exempt from "idling" laws. He then yells at me that our crew is "just standing around" and "wasting his taxes." I apologized that, that was his perception and then told him that with a crowd of over 50,000 expected and several roads shut, this was ICS operating procedure for the event. Just like it has been for the past decade.

He told me he wasn't going to pay the EMS portion of his taxes this year because of my attitude. I told him not to spend all $2.50 in one place.

Jerkstore.

Was this person somewhere between 65 and dead? At least around here, that's the only demographic that reads their itemized tax statements.

It certainly adds humor to the story to not point out the drunkenness in the main body of such. ^ :D

The real question: was he wearing Nike warmup pants and getting on a plane?
