I really need to get myself over to FCO one of these days. I am just waiting for the right mistake fare :p
Just remember that if you break down and have to buy it, you can get 2% cash back via priceline. |

Probably one of the Ws in NYC. Hopefully with a late check out as our flight doesn't leave JFK until 12:50a.

Hopefully these aren't the newer scanners that can also detect liquids. I'd hate to have to start taking those out of my bag...

Looks like an afternoon / early evening block of t-storms is building up for this evening. I'd like to set the over-under on delays on my express flight out of EWR at 80 minutes (Terminal Eh). Any takers?
I always regret taking this flight because you get painted into a corner involving crew time-out and  abatement issues. I flew through a terrific thunderstorm last night coming back from SAT. My flight was delayed intially because of mechanical problems. we all boarded, I sat in my comfy F seat. The doors did not close...... seemed there was a fuel leak that rendered the aircraft unsafe to fly. We deplaned. Waited for new equipment. Not too long - 45 minutes. Took off. About an hour into the flight we hit a massive thunderstorm. The FAs kept going into the cockpit to watch what they called a "St. Elmo's Fire". Turbulence was quite nasty. I was seated in 1E (had swapped my 1B seat so two friends could sit together). The friend in 1A began having a panic attack duriing the turbulence (which was quite hairy, I must admit). She began screaming and crying, and wailing. Quite unnerving I must say! The FAs were trying to console her. Eventually, one of the FAs threw a cold wet towel over her face to shake her out of her hysteria! Quite funny in retrospect, but the poor woman was terrified. I have to admit it was probably the worst turbulence I've experienced... it did feel like the plane was going to fall apart  We arrived safely, though! |

I used to not care about all the little crap that was broken at this client. Now that I'm going to be here full time for a few weeks all of it is driving me nuts. At least I'll have plenty of things to keep me busy while I'm working the late shift here.

Although probably not a convenient location for getting to JFK (though also probably not much worse than the Ws) I might be able to offer use of an apartment if they throw you out.
