She is home and resting while awaiting an appointment with a specialist. Luckily we were able to grab an appointment to see the head of the foot/ankle department of the Cleveland Clinic (thanks to a well placed referral from a friend).

Some  moments:

1) The admissions person asking for copayment minutes after we arrived and well before she was stabilized. Not only was it poor timing, but it gave the impression that they were not going to proceed without it.

2) Same admissions person questioning the fact that we have different last names.

3) I almost hurled while watching them set and wrap her leg. Thank god she was in dreamland for that experience.

Sorry to hear. I hate reading about those experiences. I hope Mrs. mbm3 gets better soon.

I am sure it was all worthwhile.

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes.

Baglady made it a very special day. She got me a book and how to have a 'tude in 5 languages. The Wicked Traveler ^ Shout out to CM on that one!

A bit of a travel theme for him. A new piece of luggage, noise cancelling headphones (not Bose per his request) and a TSA lock because heck, who can't use another TSA lock.

We went to the Palm for lunch; which was good but I resented paying $4 to valet.

I actually get to watch a lot of my designs get dropped (I'm an enclosure engineer).. and sometimes fail in a spectacular way.. even in ways I never thought about. It is quite fascinating.

Well, it looks like there is a 85% chance that my wife and I are moving to AUS in June. My wife already has more than 20 different job prospects, we could live in AUS comfortably on her salary alone meaning that me having a high paying job is not as necessary, making it easier and less stressful for me, and we can buy a house before we start having Mackie v2.0 running around. It's also close enough to all of my family who live in the AUS/IAH/SAT area of Texas, but far enough away that I don't have to feel like I live in the Festering Pit again.

We haven't said anything to friends or family, so I suppose this is a Box Exclusive™.

I had never been to Palm before Saturday. I need to find someone to take me places like that.

There is free wifi in the club also in addition to the T-Mo. However, after 17 April, it appears that the contract with T-mo will be finished and wifi will be open in all SkyClubs (new name for CRCs).

220.. 221.. whatever it takes. :)

And we would be happy to welcome you here. AUS is a great place to live. The Festering Pit is 150 miles down the road.. editing.. or Parmer Lane.. or RR drive. That's all I have to say. ;)

I thought the lunch special was a good value. $19 for three courses plus a side. BL JR had to have chocolate cake and the piece was enormous. She ate a few tiny bites and we brought the rest home. I think it probably serves 8 people

I'm quite certain when I get on my Wii Fit tomorrow it's going to ask me why I gained so much weight!!!!:o

Indeed. I grew up in the Houston area and always enjoyed AUS. My wife even more so now that we visit a couple of times a year. It's going to be an interesting couple of months. :)

I had the cream of asparagus soup, beef tenderloins with half-and-half, and key lime pie. ^ And I was one of two customers, so I got a lot of attention.

I would hope so! The staff to customer ratio should have been quite high. I had a few bites of the key lime pie and it was amazing.

It was fortunately very excellent - as I don't eat cheesecake, I didn't have a choice.
