I just missed you in G'ville - moved out in '95.

I sure did , where did you live ?
Also they just opened a new establishment in downtown G'ville, I did not get a chance to check it out when i was there a couple of months ago.

I find it difficult to put myself into a political party but my views mostly go into the Libertarian category. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "whack job", but my reasoning is history and the founding of our country.

Strong but limited federal government where the judiciary enforces laws, not create them and where Congress understand their duty to enact the will of the people.

Yeah it's a pipe-dream, but I have lots of time on my hands.

P.S. - I grew up on a ranch/farm, went to church on Sundays, and worked hard for what I have. But I think that makes me a "redneck".

I still have not flown since April and it looks like I will be assigned to a local client for the next few months. Anyone need a consultant with project management experience (focuses on oil/gas/utility consulting)?

I believe that this makes you a true Republican, just not a current Republican. The party has severely shifted its focus in the pas 25ish years.

I honestly don't know enough of the history to counter this...got a history degree, but political history isn't my thing.

I'm having trouble getting started today...as much as I wanna go to PHL, I'm finding it hard to get in the shower. Meh.

Well, last week I wasn't too thrilled to see coach fares IAH-SEA for mid-July running around nine bills. Of course, this was more about the particular fare class for the "regular folk" flight times (after Noon, no red eyes).

I actually grew up there - I'm a townie. I lived 8 years between the UF golf course and the law school off SW 2nd avenue and then 10 years in the neighborhood SE of the Steak & Shake on SW 13th Street (Kirkwood).

Yes, Jersey deep-fries with the best of them. But I consider things like Deep Fried candy bars rather pedestrian. Flash fly a water buffalo* and then get back to me. I'd argue that the NYS fair attracts a higher density of certifiable rednecks than any State below the Mason Dixon line.

Hartmann, I'm in the same boat with you. I don't self-ID with any party. I more go for which candidate aligns closer with my views and go from there. Although, there certainly has been a shift in which side of the voting booth the majority of my votes have been going to in the past ... 7 years.

I agree 3ft rule = lame. Now if any of you gents feels the need to spend so time in Atlanta, I will take you to the wonderful Clermont Lounge, one of the few places where strippers will dance karaoke.

ConciergeMike Jun 3, 2008 7:56 am

I live on the Jersey Shore and I've never heard of this deep-frying craze. Boardwalk fries are awesome, but that's about the extent that I know.

That's a new one. Are there any that can sing, or is it all for the scenery?

sdm1130 Jun 3, 2008 7:58 am

I've lived in NJ for most of my life and I avoid the Jersey Shore as much as possible. It just attracts too much of what I hate about this state. :D

Strip clubs and politics?! What has The Box come to!? Geez...

Yeah, those New Yorkers and Pennsyltuckians can ruin the beach experience. :p Some of them are OK, but some are just awful. Take it from a customer service guy.

The politics thing has been kinda goofy/borderline uncomfortable, but at least if the strip club is a good one,:cool::cool:

Island Beach State park is just about the only place I will go to at the shore (and even that is rare). If you continue past the main beach areas at the beginning with the showers and concession stands and go all the way to the end it is possible to find a quite beach without trash () hanging out all over it!

When coming or going, you just need to be VERY careful to avoid Seaside Heights - yuck! :D
