It just hit me that I used the pro-Ranger, anti-Islander chant. I was briefly embarrassed over this misstep, but then I realized that I hate the Rangers and Islanders equally. And I hate the Leafs more than that.

Because the exertion involved in standing there for five hours and the horrors of sitting in the dugout and occasionally scratching oneself is too much to bear this early in the season: they had to schedule a day off. :p

After the move to The Jake, I went to the World Series in both 95 and 97. It was such a great experience... I just can't wait until they win it all.

I've been suffering since I was a kid. I can remember listening to games on the radio back in the 50's:(
And, I've got to be one of the few that miss the old stadium. I don't usually like crowds but close to 70,000 on opening day is an experience.

Very fair-weather-fan-like of me, but I started following baseball in 1995. I was in middle school and the whole town was just going nuts... Going to the playoffs became a given all the way through the beginning of my college years. :)

And we'll not speak of 2007, of course.

I only read the history behind the chant recently myself, but I'm much more concerned with "Rangers Suck!", whose history goes back to 1994. :D

FoxSports.com/nhl had a feature article on the Potvin chant a few months ago - very interesting, as was SI's article on the 30th anniversary of the occasion of the chant.

The stunt he pulled vs. Boston was nothing short of inexcusable. Why Ovechkin celebrating goals enthusiastically draws more irk than this putz is beyond my comprehension.

It was fun sitting in the bleachers at Muni Stadium and yelling for the beer guy behind home plate - and being heard ;)

Our condo's airspace was just graced by 10 Apache helicopters. I usually see one hugging I-10 headed to or from Ft. Hood, but never this many.
