CO must be loading new fares or opening buckets, I'm seeing tickets that were originally $400-$500 going for $200 or less (including IAH-SEA).

I was not aware EK could be used on RTW Award itineraries. @:-)

It can? Really?

I know that my plans to use VS on HKG-LHR were thwarted when it was bumped up to the rate desk for pricing, and that was after I actually found inventory on the dates I wanted.

Being a Duke and an ABC Fan(anybody but Carolina) tonight should be interesting

I win the (SkyTeam partner) Lounge bracket tonight with a UNC win, finish 8th with a Michigan State win. Not that I like Duke or UNC, as I'm a Terp ;)

CO.com is erroneous.

The weekend is over so the cheap buckets are opening back up.

BTW, the look on CO Insider's face at the mini-DO when I said something about the HKG mistake fare was classic. Of course, I quickly owned up to the fact that it was a joke, but he wasn't quite sure just long enough for it to be worthwhile. Some of his comments about some of the systems they have that track things like city pair searches and whatnot was also interesting.

I am fingers crossed at the moment. I called in to make some tweaks this morning, to change CPT-AMS-MSP-IAH to CPT-AMS-CDG-IAH. Apparently, the agent that did the changes screwed up, and booked me in I class on AF (a paid biz bucket), which AF would have rejected.

Further, per the RTW Desk agent I spoke to later in the day, AF Biz now kicks up a RTW to the highest (First/BizFirst) redemption threshold. That second agent was not able to get back the F seats I had on MSP-IAH (:(), but did find CPT-DXB-IAH in biz. Have to wait 24 hours for it to clear with EK, then another 24 for Rates Desk to reissue. Right now we are protected on a COEX flight MSP-IAH, but I don't want to do 3 hours in an ERJ after having done CPT-AMS-MSP.

He also liked my idea about the Netbook IFE, I think he said "We can duck tape those to the back of the seats ":D

:D I wish someone got a picture.

I was wondering about the weekend being over because I've been looking at these routes for the past month or so with no change.

I'll be sure to ask him about the city pair search over dinner on the 18th.

Anything worth sharing?

It does not take an additional 24 hours to issue a ticket change - the ticket is put into the reissue queue as soon as EK confirms the segments, and it never takes 24 hours to reissue unless the agent screws something up.

That said, my experience has been that if EK does not confirm a segment right away or within an hour or so, it almost always will come back unavailable.

I am sure they do some amazing database research on the trends that are established within CO.com. As most of us know, they can record everything that we do and can really learn a lot from it as long as they keep everything in perspective.

I am sure the revenue management folks love to see the top city pair searches so they can lock down the buckets until the last minute. :)

+1

In my many creative attempts to build my trip to MLE, this was the case each and every time I asked an agent to check a routing on EK.

KE is being quite aggressive in bad times.

Nah, UA has the lock on using duct tape in/on aircraft!

Why the heck can't we redeem a reward to Asia via Europe? Seems like a silly rule in my opinion!
