I love La Trattoria! Great little place, and something you'd never expect to find there. When I was working Alpine we'd head over there for lunch at least once a week. That place has grown a lot too; a couple of years ago she was operating in a tiny space that had seating for about four customers inside and about 10 more out on the patio.

Alpine's got some great other little places to eat, too.

I miss working down in that part of the state. It was always a major PITA to get there and get home, but always a nice break from the usual.

:D

We really enjoyed Alpine, it does seem like a great little place.

Marathon is also growing more and more all while Marfa slowly dies. It is amazing how quickly pricing yourself out of the market takes place.

You may see a few other FTers on the FRA-EWR return... ;)

I'll admit I'm watching the last episode of ER. I used to be a huge fan of the show, and still watched it occassionally in recent years, although I had become rather apathetic about it, and hadn't seen an episode since around late September of last year. But I'm glad to see they brought back the original opening, and credited all of the major characters who have come and gone. Nice flashback to the good old days there. Hoping this turns out to be a really great ending for such an iconic show, even if the show had faded so much in recent years.

watching here as well

$409 a/i. Not bad for 16,800 elite miles, I don't think!

Yeah, Marathon is slowly growing. Still not much to see/do over there, but dinner at the Gage Hotel is a definite must (hope you guys did that). It's one of the best restaurants in the area, if not the state. I'm always amazed when I'm out there how such a remote area supports the number of outstanding restaurants that it does.

I've always thought Marfa was way overrated. Scenery is much better in Alpine and Fort Davis, and there really is a lot more going on in Alpine than in Marfa.

That is great out of C-Town! Nicely done.

How do you guys do these MR's. I'm not talking the time/money issue, I mean physically sitting in the seat so long? My sort of MR to HNL with 2/5 day turn is killing me now. (main reason for trip was DEQM) My legs feel like I've walked 500 miles after sitting in those Y seats. Ok what may have been dried blood in my ear after I woke up does have me bothered a bit too.

The big lav on the 764 can easily accomodate 3 people doing what ever they want. A fourth person would be a squeeze.

The mini Y cabin on the 764 Micronesia is great. It's real quiet up there.
