Ya I have the little lovely plant outside, sometimes I take it and eat it too :D

Widebody aircraft are too expensive in AM. They take forever to get, cost a fortune, and don't generate the kind of revenue I'd expect. And with that, I will bid the Box a good evening.

Anybody else watching the F1 opener from Australia? Not to be a spoiler for those watching the replay at a more humane time, but one hell of a start.

They are all looking up like you are in trouble.

I'm onboard the Kettle Express again. Literally the entire aircraft is on their way back from spring break.

I've got an AA flight (first one in years, no less) up to ORD and is packed. Guessing it's the same culprit.

welcome to the real world.

Widebodies ARE expensive to operate and buy, and don't generate the kind of income airlines would expect, that is why you have 738, 739, and 753s.

US is selling upgrades on CLT-MIA for $100. Now that is a good value.

How in the world did I miss the tip jar thread

You actually pay the $5 to CO at the departure point to get the tourist card. It was very strange. There was a guy with a cash box at EWR. Had fozz not said something to me I would not have known at all.

I've never had to fill out so much paperwork for a country. All in all, it was three pieces.

I still insist we should have cited trip in vain as all the paperwork wasn't disclosed at time of ticket purchase. :D

Morning, Box. Anyone have a flat-panel monitor recommendation? My 21" Gateway (stop laughing, it was free) crapped the bed last night.

I'm partial to my 20" Samsung SyncMaster 206BW which is about 2 years old now. It's fast for it's time at 2ms, great contrast @ 3000:1(better than my old CRT) and everything looks good. The key to using it is to use the setting switch so switch the brightness to what you are doing, i.e. Internet for surfing and other regular stuff, movies for movies, game for games, etc. The default setting will blind you with a white background.

I just got a 22" Acer wide screen from buy.com for $169/free shipping. Haven't had too much time to critique it since I set it up. Installing their management utility did crash my computer though and I had to use Windows Recovery manager to get back to a restore point from the night before. Since then I've been out of town.

It drives me nuts when the people I work next to won't take the time to do something this simple but alot of the time they just haven't thought of another way to do it and you have to help them along. Hey, if they've already said no, you might as well try cause you've got nothing to lose.

As someone omce said to me "If you don't ask, the answer is always no!"

The stuff taste terrible so make sure you wash your hands. I strongly recommend using it. I have a huge plant in my backyard that I use all the time since I seem to love to burn myself cooking and I forget that I no longer have a suntan and get sunburned alot.

I've used this remedy many times. Aloe is very soothing.

Tell me about it! I had a kettle family in F with me last week.  We pushed back from the gate, pilot came on to tell us about a weather delay so we would have to sit on the taxiway for at least an hour. Kettle Mom and Dad started complaining very loudly, calling the captain a "jerk" and "does he think we're stupid, talking to us like that ..." There was a freaking massive thunderstom right over our head with pelting hail and lightening for goodness' sake - did they think he was making it up!!

Now, the captain, IMHO was great, very empathetic to us all having to wait - told the FAs to give us all drinks and snacks, told us we could use oujr cell phones, use the lavs, etc. He kept us updated every ten minutes. He couldn't have been better, in my opinion.

But, the Kettles continued to berate the captain, the FAs, etc. In the end, I turned to my seatmate and said "if they don't quieten down, don't they realise the delay will be waaaaaaaaay longer for them due to the fact that we'll probably have to taxi back to the gate for them to be removed !!!"

In the end, we took off 2 hours late, and all they did for the entire flight was whine about what time they were going to get to bed, etc. They were from NJ - pity! Being a Jersey resident, I would rather we had better ambassadors for the state than them!
