The silliest of all alphabets.

My vote goes to the Inca alphabet, expressible only by tying lots of knots in lengths of string.

In addition the entire quick conversation about their authority to do such would be recorded. I understand customs checks and the like at borders, but this is too much. If we don't stand up for our rights we lose them.

I've driven through CBP roadblocks in the middle of VT on the way back from northern NH/VT. Twice. We had PA plates and as soon as they heard us speak, we were probably off their radar. I was  as to why they would set up in the middle of nowhere VT on I-91 southbound.

Maybe that discussion is better suited for a Panthers game; as I'm sure the building is pretty quiet this time of year. :D

Considering the Cats are in playoff contention, I'm guessing the NHL Panthers have a raucous building. Now, if you are mentioning the Carolina Panthers (probably not), then yes, their building is silent.:p

Here are my contributions to the spring training pictures. I think my 55-250 did reasonably well.

I think this one is my favorite...

Agreed. My parents held back my brother from 2nd to 3rd grade, not because he failed, but because they thought it would be better for him. Slow learner? ADD? We didn't know back in the early 80s. It wound up working out for him in the long run.

Good for them. I'm glad your parents had the sense to do what was best for your brother.

Which brings up another interesting topic... "Special needs". It is amazing to see the amount of work that goes into helping kids with needs. What's even more amazing is the "symptoms" that are classified as "special", including, "my child needs more time on the test because he gets distracted", "my child needs a copy of the quiz beforehand because they get stressed", and so on.

All the while, the kids with actual learning disabilities sit there making A's. For the most part, I blame parents.

There was a student who due to their "disability", required a printed copy of the teacher's notes (as long as they took notes of their own). The student asked the teacher for the notes at the end of class after sleeping the entire time. The teacher said "no" because the student did not take notes of their own. The teacher received multiple nasty phone calls from the parent.
