Perhaps we need to change this. Riding in a two or four seater is nothing like a regional jet! :)

We had seat cushions for the HKG flight and it was like sitting on a cloud. ^

Yeah, I have been using it at home and like it so far!

Did you ever "M-X Psychoanalyze-pinhead" in EMACS? That tied the input and output of the ELIZA and the Zippy filters together. What fun we had in those days.:rolleyes:

Congrats!! ^^

They up-gauged my IAH-BWI plane from a 733 to a new 738 with power outlets. Somehow as a silver on an L fare I was ahead of 13 people on the waitlist. I'm not sure how that is possible, but it was. Sadly, there were ~13 others ahead of me so even with the additional 4 F seats that showed up on the plane I was still nowhere close to clearing the upgrade.

Thanks! Sorry you didnt get the upgrade, hope your 72 hrs behind the security lines is going well.

Check the flight standby list, if the names match the names on the lower part of the upgrade standby list then they are more than likely CO employees trying to get to work or home.

Good to know, thanks!

Happy Texas Independence Day!

I will be celebrating by undergoing the "Drinking of Texas Beer" ritual this evening. Apparently, it's the law.

Long live Texas, the Nation State!

Not true.

I had one experience with a plane that arrived at SFO and was struck by lightning while landing. They said that they had to duct tape something on the exterior of the plane to get it back to EWR. As we were already delayed a couple hours and were coming home from SYD I didn't mind them doing that to get the plane up in the air. I assume that they fixed it for real when the plane got to EWR, but I stopped caring too much as I made it home just fine.

I recall my dad had one of his smaller planes with duct tape, Baglady, this is the one I was thinking he could take Baglady Jr up in! :)

I used to program in PostScript ... the printer would think for minutes before spitting out a page of output. People thought it was broken while it just sat and flashed. A few times I had my jobs lost when people power cycled the printer to clear the stuck job.

VI is an essential nuisance. EMACS is where it's at ... but instead we can both agree that MS-Word sucks!

You were one of those people that would clog up the office's HP LJ II, III, IV, printer. Better than dot-matrix printers that would just spit out a whole box of fan-fold paper all over the floor I suppose.

AAnywAAy, there's a little less than 5K miles in there, and thanks to Mary and the shopping thread, I leanred that Hilton will take AA at 2:1. Does The Box think it's worth it to buy enough miles to then have enough in the account to transfer tham away? AA is also running a 1500 bonus per 5K bought promo. Buy 5K, get 6500, and that will give me over 10K to move to HH and get 20K. FWIW, it's 27.50 per 1000. Opinions?

I will have to look into this. I need to up my Hilton account for my NRT trip! :)

Hey, kids! Been MIA for a bit, thanks to a crazy work schedule... Just managed to start catching up a little on FT today. Schedule hasn't eased up enough to catch up on 50 or so pages of the Box, however, so would someone give me a quick recap of last week or so? Anything earth-shattering that I missed?

Most do. Bus fare usually includes reincarnation as the following afternoon's chicken chow mein. And for only $1 extra/ticket, you get to come back as General Tso's.
