Conference championship? Those are a lot of fun. I got to attend a first round March Madness session as part of a university's party last year.

I still have a HP IV in my office - I had to start running a host-based driver to improve it to incredibly slow (instead of unacceptably slow).

I will have to look into this. I need to up my Hilton account for my NRT trip! :)

Remember, the AA - HHonors transfer has a 25,000 mile minimum for non-elites.

With UA they have a lot more FA bases and that makes a huge difference on the level of service. I've found the LHR, NYC and LAX bases are some of the best groups. Just like CO's, now defunct, LAX base used to have some of the best FAs.

I was impressed by our LHR-based UA flight attendants on our recent trip. They were outstanding, in both directions. I was a little scared on our return flight, as their average age was approaching 70, and based on previous experiences with UA FAs, old has often equaled rude, grouchy, surly FAs, but not at all in this case. The group of ladies working Y on that flight were top notch, incredibly friendly, and while they didn't have much to work with in terms of what they were serving, they still went out of their way to make you think that the rock hard pancakes and bland British sausage they had to offer for breakfast was something special.

Not without driving to DAL and flying WN ($337.70 + gas + parking).

Agree! This forum scared me when I first lurked. It's much more hospitable (most of the time) now!

I take it that was before you discovered The Box (or maybe even before it existed).

It's truly amazing what the removal of one bad apple can yield.

Why would you depend on an airline forum to provide you your apples? You should bring your own apples. Anyway, even if you didn't bring your own apples, a quick search would have yielded 193 previous threads where apples were discussed.

;) Sorry, just couldn't help myself on that one. I'll be good now.

Plus1. I wanted to bump my AA account to 5K and then empty it out, hopefully never to be used again. But 25K isn't in the cards in the near future. I did notice that AA was cheaper than everyone for a recent trip from PHL that I was looking at, so I may end up flying them if they're that much cheaper.

You can keep laughing but CO isn't going to be laughing to the bank with my $1900 either!

Even if it would quality for 10 points, I can get 16 for $500....
