Hrm, that's close to my birthday. I wonder how many  I would get if I suggested it to my wife. :D

Me too (11/16)- my fiancee is asking about it...I'd be shocked if she went.

I'm at 50 for EDI, and 41 for AMS.

Let me clarify that I've never lived in the EU. That adds some  to my stat.

I've managed to avoid CDG. ^

FRA is an inefficient dump. (Half the country of Germany is lighting torches and forming a mob as we speak)

Agreed. MUC is 100x better.

I didn't get to spend much time in it, but the BRU airport is a pretty sweet airport as well. The "domestic" terminal was airy and clean.

I am not a huge fan of Fraport.

CDG is fine. Just walk instead of taking the buses (unless you are doing non-Schengen to non-Schengen, if you don't want to enter the EU and then go through passport control again before entering the connecting terminal).

I walked for my last non-Schengen to non-Schengen connection (IST-CDG-SOU). I don't recall there even being a bus option. At one point I think we were on a tram, maybe.

I've only done FRA once, in '99, flying FRA-KEF-JFK. I don't really remember much of it. I've transited CDG a handful of times, according to my OpenFlights page, and only one was truly horrendous. The others were fine.

I'm looking forward to seeing MUC in November coming home from the Airbus Do.

Are you doing an intra-German routing just for fun or is there some cost-saving or other reason?

AMF in NJ Feb 17, 2009 10:41 am

All this talk of the 787 delivery time line in that other thread go me thinking, albeit probably two years too early, what are the chances for there to be an inaugural 787 CO DO? Maybe too VIP loaded for many FT'ers?

MBM3 Feb 17, 2009 10:42 am

CDG is not all that bad, but I do find it a tad confusing at times. AMS and MUC are tip top for hubs, and ZRH is amazingly convenient. Other mentionables: ORK, LCY and BOD.

I forgot about yesterday's meeting with LH. Time to go read.

Y'all know how to pick 'em.

I've done CDG twice IAH-CDG-LED-CDG-IAH, I really have no memory of the flights or CDG other than transferring was a biatch and I was on a really empty AF 737.

I suspect with a good junk of the Mods on the flight, they might as well meet up over there.

How many people can you get in a FRA hotel room, you know like when you were in college and had people sleeping on the floor to cut costs?

Is Rosetta Stone worth it to pick up some German?

Not if you are going to be sticking around FRA and the areas nearby.

Hartmann Feb 17, 2009 11:12 am

Popping into the UA forum is always such a treat....
