Back to back runs between March 6-8.

I may run into you on one of those.

^ I leave Friday around 3 and do direct turns from there.

It's always convenient to randomly find 35 EUR (you didn't know you had) 2 weeks before you leave for Europe.

I have a bunch of West Coast work this early winter and since PIT is only about 1.25 hours from my workplace, I will be sampling for the first time the Pittsburgh airport (for several trips). What is even more interesting is that there are R fares available out of PIT, but not out of CLE and the R fares from PIT are cheaper than those from CMH. You have to work very hard to get the best fare on this airline.

PIT is, how should I put it, interesting...

It may be the ugliest and worst laid out airport in the
U.S.

BRU Pub Crawl

So I'm thinking about hitting up the BRU pubcrawl but seem to be running into the slight problem of "joblessness" and the depressing monetary situation that accompanies it. Ergo that annoying shred of responsibility is keeping me from booking a ticket...can anyone here offer any advice?

J Edward. I am surprised that accountants are not number one or two on the hit parade of new hires given the number and size of the BKs going on today. I could not imagine there is a better local economy in the US than Houston at this time. Good luck on the job search.

I'm in the same boat too as well as others here. :( Sucks haveing the time to do such things but not the means and I've been promising myself to do such a trip while looking.

Solution to jobless travel: cash in points. Granted, domestic hotel and air rewards aren't the best use of the goodies, but that's the only way that I'm making SEA happen. Speaking of which, we're doing 1 night in Everett to be close to Boeing and 2 nights downtown. Besides the obvious Seattle landmarks, does anyone know of anything else that is non-flying-geeky that shouldn't be missed?

I've cashed in all I can cash in. That's how I've done YVR, LAS, FAR since I've been made available to the industry (yea one that's expected to do well with the stimulas package but that's not untill mid March at the earliest and if I only had 5-7 years of experience) DO flight is from a voucher and I'm still trying to get some assemblence of friends in the UK so I can burn another voucher, especially since UK flights are sub $500 at the moment. Oh being on committees with professional society also has some interesting trips in the mean time as they are flipping the bill and I was available to volunteer. But aliases, I had already decided to take a year off from that so that source has dried up since November. :(

Edit: Now that I think back, I booked YVR and FAR rewards while I still had a job.

Are you eating the traditional Japanese dishes for The New Year?
How's the mochi and sashimi?

I don't think I had mochi , we went to old Tokyo where the oldes temple is and it seemed that everyone in Tokyo was there.
The crows were unreal , the line to get in the temple was about 3-4 blocks long.
All around the area there were food stands , and what seem to be a street fair along with the usual shops and stuff.
We seemed to try many dishes that people were lining up for in masses.
Some where good , others where interesting.

Mochi is rice dough served soft, often dyed in a bright color. Tradition has it that you and your family pound the rice dough today. Doesn't really have too much flavor. The other mochi you might be familiar with is the rice crackers.

Today is the day that everyone flocks to the temples for good luck. Plus I also think that everyone "turns" one year older on Jan. 1, so the girls turning 21 will wear their most formal kimono's and fur coats to go temple visiting.

I just love Japan. It's my most favorite place to visit. Hope you are enjoying yourselves.

Thanks,
I think we ate mochi and we saw many girls wearing formal kimonos.
I will post some pictures when I get back to the states.

Renting a car? If so, take a side trip to Snoqualmie Falls. If you want a nice romantic stroll outside of downtown, but in a nice residential area, try Green Lake Park. My wife has friends who live 2 blocks away from this park. We took a stroll in this park in the middle of January while visiting them. Though, we were lucky the temps. were in the upper 60s. If we moved to SEA (which we would love to do), this is an area we would be happy with. For a good dinner in downtown, I highly recommend Wild Ginger. You will not be disappointed. Reservations highly recommended. Though, how much $$ do you want to spend on your severely limited income. :( Also, coming from the northeast, the drivers in SEA actually seem to be courteous and know the rules. Didn't have any problems driving out there. If you want to rely on public transit. It seems to be pretty good in and around downtown.^
