I love busy days at work when you finally look at the clock and realized you planned to leave for lunch 30 min earlier:D

I have been having those days all week. I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at the Soccer DO and having a good stiff drink.

You have all been very helpful and wisely talked me off the ledge of trying to perfectly time the NYC public transportation system. There would have been bodies strewn about that I had tossed off those escalators in Manhattan Mall. I did decide on the 6:30 flight so that I get into Sarasota at a decent hour, but I'm going to get a car service at 4pm in NY and do the things that I have to do at that hour via laptop and cellular broadband, with someone standing by as backup in case the IT craps out. The B6 flight was tempting, but we're talking about EQMs here.

The collective wisdom of the box focused on the actual transportation not the upgrade possibilities and the corresponding service levels, which appropriately re-focused me on what was really important in planning here. Long Live teh Box!

A 4pm car from 34th and 1st will be lucky to get to the airport on time for a 6:30pm flight. You're going to be dealing with traffic, tunnel traffic and Turnpike traffic. I actually think that mass transit is a smarter move at that time of day but you're still taking a big risk assuming you can get to EWR on time.

It is only 1100 miles. Take a weekend Co.O.L. special later this year and make it up.

I absolutely agree with this post! :D

Tomorrow in History (since I'm flying to EWR): In 1948, Albert, the first monkey astronaut, is launched into space.

Sadly, he suffocates in flight. :-:

This is turning into a cluster-

CO, in their infinite wisdom in trying to get my ticket to sync up dropped my PTY-LIM segment without telling me. I couldn't check-in with CM so I called them, the agent very nicely told me, "this flight was cancelled by CO".

Now on hold again with CO after 1 hour and 20 minutes trying to fix the original problem.

This happened to my mother while trying to do reward bookings for some clients, one of whom happened to be her friend since they were in third grade. Copa's computers, IIRC, are not connected in real time to CO's systems. Copa does some kind of systemwide 24-hour sweep updating process that makes CO/CM combined reservations barf. The friend and her partner lost their EWR-PTY-SCL F reservations because of this, and my mother was so pissed that Copa ending up chopping them over to DL because by the time the cluster was undone, there were no other seats on CO or CM.

They sure cancelled in real time. But, I understand what you're saying. There is somewhat of a lag but this is bad... The segment should have never been dropped. I may just push for F on the non-stop IAH-LIM if they aren't able to reinstate the segment and since I was in F on CM.

p.s. - I wish there was a way to mute the awful CO hold music.

The lag that affected my mother was right on about 24 hours, plus or minus a few minutes. It left her friends stranded in PTY without a flight to SCL to pick up a cruise before it was resolved by Copa eating the seats on the DL JFK-SCL nonstop.
