Good fare + summer = INP in most cases. Good luck.

Right now we have two reward tix to PVR, but are thinking we would rather use our SPG free night in Europe or the west coast

Wow, I got stuck on a call and came back too late.

Got an email today from a former manager of mine who now works for a competitor. He basically offered me a job. After discussing the details, I politely declined. No travel. :td: :p Besides, and most important, I'm quite content with my current situation.

IIRC, the tax incentives the combined carrier would have to pay back to Chicago if they bailed on the new ops center at the Sears Tower would be something like $35M.

That'd be a pretty significant ding to the P&L.

I have nothing to say in defense of Teh Pit.

Without a binding estimate your shipment charges are based completely on actual weight and additional charges can be (and usually are) collected after the truck has been filled and brought to a DOT weight station. Did you get a binding estimate? If not, did the terms you agreed to state that you'd be charged based on the actual weight? If so, I'd say you're stuck.

The changes are not based on increased weight as they do not weigh their moves, but on the number of items. I am being charged more because the number of items went up. The contract under the title says binding move interstate. The screwy thing about the movers is they used number of items and weigh interchangably which I brought to the owenrs attention today and was finally told that they basically charge the move based on an average weight per item. so if they move a chair, it could weigh 10 lbs or 50 lbs but their average weight for a chair is 25 lbs so that is what the charges are based upon. the assumed average weight. I understand now that I didn't get enough research done into this move as I thought I had.

The part that upsets me can't be changed in that I felt and understood that would inform me in a tiely manner before the move that I had additional items and that the move would cost me more. At that point, like I told him, I would have paid the cancellation fee and moved it myself.

I think I may go back and say I will meet him in the middle and see what he says. As I feel both parties are partially at fault.

Not to take this too far into the -PR realm, but I'd like my mayoral vote back.

It is a crying shame that my first choice received the least amount of votes.

PHL is an expensive city to fly to. I have found that CLE-PHL fares can be double or triple CLE-BWI so I have in the past done the BWI thing and taken AMTRAK back to PHL. When the difference between airfares is $400 and the train costs $50 and takes 1.5 hours, you have to calculate the price vs the time and account for them.

That depends entirely on who flies the route. WN has a pretty decent presence here, so any route that matches a WN non-stop or one-stop route generally is inexpensive. (Non-stop flights to California are the exception, at least for mid-week or refundable tickets.) In contrast, short-haul flights that WN doesn't fly are pretty expensive (at least $250 for non-refundable, advanced purchase roundtrips in my experience, and much more for mid-week or refundable flights).

Since WN does not fly CLE-PHL, prices are . It would be nice if they added the route (though "so Phudnik's kids can see their grandparents more often" doesn't strike me as a compelling business case) but I suspect they will only do so if CO dehubs CLE.
