It's been a few days, did I miss anything? Good Morning Box. Last day of my two weeks in CLT. I don't often say this, but it will be nice to go home. And of course, looking forward to meeting a bunch of folks next weekend at the Footie DO! |

Seems like the United pilot community is almost as over-entitled as their passengers. Funny things you've heard on ATC came up in the thread, and one pilot says that when WN announced entry into DEN, they said they would be a "minor player". Then goes on to complain that WN has 30% of the departures now. Ummmm, that would be UA's fault for placing itself in a position to be unable to defend its hub. @:-) United is not promised a commanding market share solely because it's United...you do indeed have to work to stay at the top once you get there.
Then the other frequent-post pilot says that WN supposedly has an "ATC Committee" that brings goodies to tower personnel, which is why they get preferential ATC handling. That would be simple creativity and willingness to spend a little to save a lot...a concept with which UA is unfamiliar. |
