I've begun to use it for early AM flight positioning stays, in preference to the HoJo's [Toll]Plaza. They're upgrading all the time, and the location can hardly be beat. 80 is a bargain, period.

If you're driving, and you don't need the positioning it offers, then why not move inland a little?

There you go. Paying a couple of bucks to eliminate needless stress and anxiety comes back to you in productivity and enjoyment of life.

I am Not An Economist, but it seems to me the cost to subscribe to any given channel would go up as the number of total subscribers declines. What am I missing? Are you talking about the cost to subscribe only to ESPN's channels and not have to pay for the 300 other channels that you get and never watch?

I've read analyses that à la carte pricing could make cable more expensive depending on how many channels you subscribe to. I have no position on this issue one way or another because I am a lazy consumer and prefer to buy packages/bundles.


This is why we fought to keep our dial-up accounts open despite corporate IT wanting to eliminate them to save money.

If I'm paying $100/month for 300 channels or I can pay $50 for the 50 I want - a 200% increase in the per channel cost - then both sides are right. :-:

Two words: Sprint Card. (Or ATT or Verizon). Buck or two a day to never be without internet. I'll bet that baglady, out there in the alfalfa capital of the world, could even get it out of the air if she needed.

The other half just called from ORD, awaiting boarding to DEN. She informed me that she has arranged the purchase of some "heritage breed chickens" (:rolleyes:) and I needed to get on their cooping and security. Also that Al and Tipper Gore are separating. No affairs involved, just that Al apparently feels he needs to be with the one he loves: himself.
