I don't wanna go to work. :(

So I just checked the history of my flight for tomorrow. If things are on time we should be leaving the radio coverage of Gander Center just about the time that the footie matches end. Odds that I can convince the pilots to get an update before we head out over the ocean??

It should help that both England and the US are playing at the same time and the results will determine who advance.

Worst they can say is no.

Well, I suppose the absolute worst they can say is get off my airplane, but I doubt even the most hardcore hooligan would go that far. :)

Morning, Box.

My laptop went to ANC as well on its way from Shenzen to Chicago. I've already been to ANC though, so no new dot for me.

Good morning, Box!

It's been nice to sleep in a bed, take a shower in a clean bathroom with a real towel, etc. :D The trip was a great success - we all made it to DC and back in one piece and healthy - and it's quite crazy to think that, with the exception of about an hour in the Gettysburg museum and some grocery store and gas station convenience mart quick stops, we were out of doors constantly for an entire week. I am also definitely sporting some interesting tan lines. :p It'll be quite crazy next year when I do this trip two weeks before the wedding!

Now, to the pile of unpacking, laundry, and repacking (I leave tomorrow for two weeks of DC/ROA/DC/Colorado, a quick overnight back here, and a week in CLE)...

If you need more reason, perhaps these could even be combined with either the getting-to-know-Princeton-Do (canoeing anyone?) or getting-sbm12-to-Delaware-Do.

Could said Do be held prior to July 19? I could take another trip. (and use that 10% off AA code)

Alas, I'm not in town at all (see above) until July 19 and would love to see it sometime in the two weeks after that (or in August).

The referees are apparently getting acclimatized to them.

So, did I miss anything earth-shattering this past week? I actually DID manage to jump on the PHL-YVR deal - thanks to my devoted travel agent and the BBBox - and orchestrated two itins from Gettysburg. Going on 8/11 and 8/17. I haven't crunched exact numbers yet, but I think that combined with necessary trips through the end of the year, this SHOULD lock up Plat just fine. Whew.

No, we are not sharing. Heat indexes here will approach 107-108 degrees.

But teh Death Star will set just a bit earlier tonight. We may lose the battles of June, July, August, and September, but there is hope for October.

I'm not a big fan of rap music but this cover of a Kid Cudi song is good enough for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQMJCOT2wlQ

 Is he asking to be fired?!

What commanding general of any military unit that isn't French in their right mind gives a profile interview to Rolling Stone? If he thought he was going to get a straight telling of a story out of them, that's a pretty large battlefield miscue.

If Gen. McChrystal really wants out and can't bear the thought of working for Obama for whatever reason, do it with some class. Write a long, eloquent resignation and then the day after the White House receives it, release it to the press yourself since you're a civilian now. Then bolster your retirement by doing a book and lecturing.

Senior commanders have been known to resign in protest...good generals know that their position is untenable and they mount a tactical advance to the rear. Talking to Rolling Stone is walking off a cliff to the left.

Morning, Box.

I hope the President gives him a good swift kick in the rear. Everything I've read about McChrystal has been fairly positive so this interview seems like a really bad quick decision. Doesn't reduce it's stupidity and inappropriateness though.

What I don't get is why Rolling Stone even made the short list, much less got approved. It's not like they are the most balanced of publications out there. His press people might as well have let Mother Jones in.
