I only have to wear mine at graduation. The school rents it for those who don't have their own... I'm assuming I'll buy mine once I finish the d@$# doctorate.
They then went and bought it for my sister when she finished her doctorate.... and of course she left academia for the private sector. So she has it and it sits in a closet... and me, who might actually use it, has none. Of course I am too cheap to buy it as I'd only use when they force me to attend some event...which is like once a year--and then I rent the cheapest one possible. |

One of my friends who lives in Montrose had their (city distributed) garbage can stolen yesterday. They called the police on it.
I hope your friend doesn't need their trash picked up any time soon. Last time I had to call 311 to get a new trash can it took almost three weeks. I ended up asking my neighbors to borrow theirs. |

It's good to report petty crime like that though because if enough of it shows up on the blotter HPD will add patrols to the area.

I can see how this would come out well in a cost-benefit analysis.
It was just the irony of it, while GS execs are being grilled on Capitol Hill.

It's a brand new car, just five months old.
I think calling the cops would be a waste of their time at this point. Best regards, William R. Sanders Online Guest Feedback Coordinator Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide [email protected] |

Not sure what to do in the following in the scenario... Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
We've noticed my wife's car's passenger door having little scuff marks on it from being hit in the same place over and over. Our garage spots are small but we try to make it easy for the person parking next to her to have enough room to open their door. A couple of weeks ago my wife noticed a full out dent where the scuff marks used to be. We know it's the person who parks beside us in the garage because the car is only used for home to work and there is no one next to the car at work. I suggested my wife write a nice note to the driver, asking them to be cautious opening the door and that we understand the space is tight. Well, yesterday, my wife was planning to put the note on the door when the girl pulled into her spot at the same time as my wife. Very kindly and without placing blame my wife said, "Hi, I know the parking spaces are tight, but could you try to park over a little more? I don't want to hit your car and we're as far over as we can go. We've noticed a couple of scuff marks and we just want to keep the car in good condition and know that you want to keep yours the same way." The other driver looks at her and flatly says, "Wasn't me." and proceeds to walk to her home. I am tempted to go and buy a little video camera to record her hitting the door everyday. She's been rude to us before but I've always tried to still be nice. This recent occurrence has pushed my buttons a little though and if I can get her on camera hitting the car, I may try more drastic measures. Any other ideas? I don't mind paying for the dent, they happen. But I don't want to pay for every dent that this girl causes because she's too lazy to take her time to park better. |
