That's kind of nuts. I was doing ORD-PHL runs semi-regularly a few years ago (06-08), and I don't think I ever didn't have packed-to-the-gills 737/A319 flights on Mon/Thu/Fri.

You're definitely on the right track.

There is always the chance that my 0 for UDU streak could end, I suppose.

WWTBD? I need to fly from the Washington area to CLE, and am staying in Bethesda. DCA is obviously the most convenient alternative but is out because of timing (don't want to take the 6:50 am flight, next flight gets me in too late for an appointment). There is a flight at 8:30 am from IAD (on UAX) and a flight at 8:10 am from BWI on WN. BWI is obviously much cheaper (though I am not paying, I like to be responsible with other people's money).

I wish I could get Marriott points for having lunch at a Marriott hotel even though I'm not staying there.

I'm surprised, too. The evening flights still seem to be mainline (including a 752) but the rest appear to have become CR7s. There is a fair amount of capacity on that route between US, UA, AA, and WN, however.

As much as I hate to say it: BWI for the WN.

I found out that baglady is staying in the hotel across the street from me. I suspect her hotel is a tad bit nicer than the Ramada I am in :-:

Knowing baglady, I would surmise you are correct.

My '01 Civic is in the shop today for its 100K service. $2100.

To be fair, this is the first time I've spent more than $100 on annual maintenance since 2005, so I can't complain too much.

Transmission flush
Coolant flush
Brake flush
New timing belt (the one thing you really don't want to defer on a Civic)
New ABS wheel speed sensor
Lots of other inspect/lube items
New front/rear sway bar assemblies

And I really can't complain, since it's being indirectly funded by my current commute, which is partially expensed because I'm driving significantly farther than I'd drive to my office, and it's cheaper to drive my own car than to get a rental. I win, the company wins. :-:

That is a good point. UA is our company's preferred carrier (AA is a secondary), and UA (or a US codeshare) was always cheapest. We're allowed to book SW, but I chose not to because I live ~20-25 minutes from ORD. If there's no traffic, it's 60 to MDW, and can stretch to 90 easily. NFW.

Not certain how this qualifies as a dilemma.

Wow - that's more than my car's worth (says the person who's driving to his local Pull-A-Part on Friday to get some parts for repairs).

I believe in the right to carry a firearm as a private citizen but the reason he released this as, "news" deserves more  than is currently available.

My "Together We Fly SkyTeam USA" team just reached the cap to get 20,000 RDM each. That's the most exciting part of my day thus far (had to go to a retirement plan meeting earlier this morning).
