my relationship with AmEx.

! I keep the AMEX card I have for purchases at Costco. The only CC accepted there (other than debit cards used w/ a pin #).

Another post. Good evening. Nothing like setting the alarm clock for 3:40am

Are you really flying this weekend or looking for the early morning flight bumps?

! No it doesn't. First purchase - of any amount - triggers the 50K bonus.

I thought the offer was predicated on $250 in spend.

Perhaps going to a fee free AMEX card would be good for you? I believe Blue is fee free.

Nothing here yet.

Didn't see that today, but it doesn't surprise me. Except for Detroit, Montreal and a select few other teams, NHL teams don't turn a profit until the playoffs.

! On a related note, I guess this deal is all but signed given some of the sentiment around here the last day or two.

UAUA's strong Q1 seems to have driven the final nail into CO's coffin.

Not for me, not really. I have begun to look at Membership Rewards as an unnecessary middleman. My MR points either go to CO or HH, and I already have an HH card. MR on the whole doesn't have anything that really tempts me otherwise.

Here's the article that goes along with that picture. It's a couple years old, but still kind of interesting.

! Nor does it surprise me. What surprised me more was to see the owner talking to reporters.

! :(

I wonder if the combined brain trust will have the common sense to pay homage to both companies' histories with some tastefully painted aircraft.

Extremely interesting. More than 20 years later we were still needing to type commands into MS-DOS.

You know if the rumors are true and the UA name is the surviving one, I wish that the power to be would keep the CO paint job and just slap the UA name over CO's name. That would make both groups feel alittle better I think.

I hate to see another good airline name disappear, just because their business leaders weren't up to the task.

Chicken or the egg: are the companies responsible, or are the demanders of their services who want the same service at an ever-cheaper price point to blame?

It was interesting to see Leonsis standing there with a frozen gaze as the time wound down on his season.

You're missing out. The ability to go to London at a 40% discount or the ability to get a 100K F seat N.Am.-Europe on *A are great reasons to go MR rather than CO.

I'm not so sure it is a function of the leaders not being up to the task so much as they were always smaller and never managed to grow enough relative to others to be a serious standalone player.
