I just found out that the engine in my 7 year old Audi A4 failed at 140K miles  What burns me is that the car was well maintained (oil change q5k miles etc), and yet it still failed! $6000 to repair it (not a chance). Never had a car engine fail (with the exception my VW microbus in the 70s but that doesn't count). Now I have to find another car, which I really hate. It is going to be a long weekend. Bummer
I am impressed that you had a VW microbus. |

Thanks, I feel better already :D;) I think. I'll know more after I do my shopping. Anyone have an opinion on a diesel? I have always wanted to own one.
Is finest Soviet Tractor in Transdniestr. In 2008, was only vehicle in all of Crimea capable of hauling Pulkova twins simultaneously (blessed be their glorious peasant haunches - like two great cabbages of sweet love). My cousin Yevgeny can give you very good price. :-: |

I have heard reasonably good things about BMW's diesel, but I wouldn't buy a German car. That being said, I test drove a VW diesel a few months ago. I felt like I was driving a delivery truck. |

How did the engine fail? What broke?
Check the price difference between diesel and gasoline, and the price differential between diesel engined cars and gasoline powered cars, and do the payout and efficiency calculations. See if the $ difference is worth it to you. I have heard reasonably good things about BMW's diesel, but I wouldn't buy a German car. That being said, I test drove a VW diesel a few months ago. I drove a 26' Penske truck from SAN to AUS. A VW diesel is nothing like that. :-:

I really don't want to drive to ALB this weekend. There's something about that 20 minutes from the time I get of the the throughway and get to ALB that just makes the drive seem long.
