The gate checks going to baggage claim is a newer thing. They weren't doing that the last time I was there two years ago.

I'm glad I don't generally frequent the "airports" you two regularly seem to visit. :D

Are you going to one of the many Corky's or the Interstate?

Interstate is the one I've been to. I've tried it two or three times and every time the service was pretty awful and the food was OK, but nothing to rave about. One time the meat was dry and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day long. I wasn't impressed.

I not so sure the last part truely has changed! It seems the same planes land and take off there as they did in the late 70s earlier 80s!! Atleast if flying the New DL!! :)

No 727s, a lot fewer DC-9s, and a ton of CRJs of various sizes. It has changed.

Shuttle America, so BTS.gov is a no go. My plan was to check ACARS in a few days, but I rarely have any luck finding a hit there. :(

Did your route originate in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic? If so, there's a very good chance it got recorded (the Mid-Atlantic ACARS nerds are religious in their fervor). The generic search box doesn't always work. Sometimes you have to open up the .txt file of ACARS logs for the entire day (huge), then do a CTRL-F search based on flight number or city pairs.

Sorry, what I posted was airport express shuttle; gotcha on the hotel shuttle.

I see. The service ends before I would arrive into the station.

The people who hate ORD are the people who connect through ORD (especially the ones who connect from F11-B22). Since it's my home airport, I'm probably a little biased, but it's not too bad.

* Security is usually pretty quick, even in non-elite lines (and in some cases, even faster). On Monday mornings, I can shoot for arriving in the parking garage at departure-60, get through security, grab a quick breakfast at McD's, and make it to my gate with time to spare before the boarding call.
* Because they're so busy, the TSA goons don't powertrip as much as at smaller airports.
* The new high-B RCC is nice.
* When I do need to check bags, they're typically pretty quick. I've had times where even landing in B concourse, my checked bag has made it to the carousel before I did.

What's not so good:
* Insufficient seating, especially in the UX gates and some of the 767 gate areas.
* Not enough food choices, especially in E/F
* How things go south in bad weather (although that's improved a lot with the new runways opening)

I've mostly connected at ORD and never found it that bad. E/F are old and show it. B/C I still find to be pretty modern and are fine when it comes to amenities. It's not my favorite, but there are far worse offenders out there.

DSM-ORD. Perhaps one of the cows we flew over managed to pick it up.

I could probably see it if I stood on a chair in the RCC, but I don't think that would go over well...

An example, for your  pleasure. Not all flights display numbers properly, so sometimes city-pair yields the best result. Remember that all times are in GMT, so domestic flights later in the evening will appear on the next-day's ACARS report.

ETA - two ORD-DSM flights appear in the linked .txt file above (mainline, though).

I am going to try and pack more like 5 or 6 days and have laundry done on the last day in CAN.
