Yup..Corporate accounts only. They basically had to match the VZW plan or risk losing the business. The VZW still lets you go on/off as needed versus having to pay the whole month all the time.

BTW I think you probably saw my reply later to Plus1 but to clarify, data is $40, and it allow the on/off prorated like Verizon as well. About local SIMs, there is not a lot of need for me, my main need is company, which is my only reason for needing a phone at all. I'd have other means if wanting communications locally (i.e. friends and family with local numbers already)

My band just played our first gig in 4 months last night due to an almost comically sad series of weather-related cancelations and double-bookings that didn't go in our favor. Felt good to be playing again but by the second set, my elbows, feet, hands, and shoulders were really feeling it. Our next gig is on May 8th right after Ms. GadFly and I get back from Seattle.

On hold with the work travel nazis. Can't book the itinerary I want for ATL-IAH-BPT and return online because the BPT-IAH-ATL flights I want include a 3:55 layover and the site thinks anything over a 3 hour layover is too long. Never mind that CO's own website shows this as a valid connection available for the same price as the shorter connections. To make it worse, thanks to the European flight mess, hold times are ridiculously long.

Of course, i don't live in the sticks. The issue with locals may more likely not be their fault and the fault of your local affiliates as the local affiliates have to sign off on getting the national feed.

That's really the issue. It's up to the local stations more than anything else. As I posted earlier, my parents have the same issue with both DirecTV and Dish. They can get all the national networks, but they'll get them out of Dallas, despite technically living in the Beaumont/Port Arthur market, and having a local cable system that provides them with some Houston stations as well.

Unfortunately, things like getting quality television service and Internet are often tradeoffs for living in rural areas.

It's a slow day around here when the new threads are talking about re-using the plastic cups on our flights. :D
