Aye. I needed to lock in the 2x IAH-GIG in J for the new date, though.

Are you staying an extra day in GIG or REC?

I couldn't care less about the clientele or the staff at the Ws. All I care about is whether the room is done well versus funky gone wrong. I was a bit underwhelmed at my room in the W Mex with the low-end tiled floors, scuffed walls, bathroom without any visual separation from the bedroom, and no shower curtain for the othewise nice tub/shower. It was like a college dorm room with slightly nicer furnishings and fixtures.

And, with respect to the Hoboken discussion, I don't care how douchey the crowd is; the bar staff alone makes the place worth a visit.

W Hoboken is high on my list. There's a good car service I use up there. :-:

They only changed one letter for ours. How bad did they butcher yours?

The new look is a definite improvement. They needed to get away from Gold Brocaded Quilts, funky looking Marble, and beige carpeting. 1988 can stay where it is. St. Regis Houston was especially atrocious pre-remodel. I'm also biased against the brand, considering a very lousy stay there.

Yes; the old model definitely was that of low-end Versailles rip-off.

Surprised you've had bad expereinces. My St Regis stays have all been top notch.

Might as well. GIG is nice for two or three nights, but it can always be done on a weekend given the ability to take redeyes in both directions.

One letter was dropped and two substituted in, and then another was added at the end.

It works if you're in the energy industry.
