A stay at teh W Seoul Walkerhill would calm any brand fears. That's simply one of the best hotels I've stayed at anywhere. Korea does W right.

W FLL was also very ^, as is W Montreal.

San Diego is the only one on my avoid list.

Looks like the good LGA-SNA B fare is gone. Of course, it disappeared before I got to use it and I actually could have really used it today. :(

Too bad. I would have liked to pick up a few more to Southern Calif.

Well, if you don't know then what's your worry?

If it turns out you don't like it you can always not go back. But until you actually have the experience it is all just your mind playing games with you.

See above re: Chandelier Room and W Hoboken. :D

I actually like what they did over there, It gives a Hoboken a different option instead of having to jump on the path.

Regarding potential doosh factor, the Ws are also fine, so long as you avoid the Bar/Club area in the evenings, and don't intend to have extensive staff interaction. At most hotels, the extent of my staff interaction is picking up a key folio. I don't really care if the staff is full of itself in most cases, as I didn't travel to the destination to hang out with the check-in clerk or concierge (no offense to concierges intended, I just generally prefer to use the "random walk" method of exploring new places).

+1

I'm far from trendy and I'm not a big fan of bars/clubs but I love Ws for the rooms. I limit my interactions with the hotel staff and spend most of my time outside of the hotel, so the doosh factor never becomes an issue.

Yeah...I need to fly to the area on Thursday. And again in October. I had planned on using the fare for both. Now I'll either fly US or pay a ton more next Thursday. Considering that I'm already in for $130 on a ticket that is on the wrong day (UA) I'm really not so happy about the idea of spending another $270 on a ticket in p.s. Y. :(

I never had a problem in SAN, I would add the W HKG to a great hotel, I loved it.

I'm surprised the W HKG cleaned out the broom closet for you.

The W HKG is near the top of my list of SPG properties I'd like to check out.

I couldn't even get a Kool Korner on a one-night stay when they had them available for sale on SPG.com. Nasty attitude from the check-in staff, too. Did really enjoy Beach Bar, though.
