Happy b'day unkfrank^

Returned from my trip to find a CO2 dectector going off in the normal bad battery beep mode, swapped in another battery (not fresh) still beeping, then the one upstairs started going off. My neighbor was powerwashing his deck so I think the fumes got in the house. But I still had to open all the windows and race out to get new batterys (all is quiet now).

Just collected the car (a non-diesel VW Golf, which gets rather good gas mileage, is maneuverable and fun to drive, and fit the price range quite well in 2006) from its checkup. 8 mile bike ride out there, but it's a nice day for such.
Now I'm supposed to get on the NJT* and head into the city but apparently all rail service in/out of NYC is suspended due to some Amtrak signal problems?!? The website says it's "cross-honoring to Port Authority" but I'm not quite sure what that entails in terms of me actually getting into Manhattan. I would really rather NOT drive in and out, but I don't know what my options are at this point. * = looks like the fare hike got approved. :td: I'm about to get priced out of having a non-local social life... $29.50 for a roundtrip is a LOT to add into the cost of a typical night out! |

last year prices were about the same as now, but I found I could go GRk-IH-FLL-IAH-SFO-IAH-GRK for the same price as GRO-IAH-FLL-IAH-GRK....so I'd be an idiot not to take it and visit with sfogate! |

I guess it is thursday, and everyone is out getting a drink or something.
I am in, it is raining. |
If I have 3 other people traveling with me, same PNR, are their bag fees waived also?

That is pretty common? I sometimes get GRK-FLL for less, or add in funky places like SFO or PDX for the same price :D
