I am under the impression that SkyWest is generally considered the best regional carrier.

I haven't flow too much on the RJ offerings of non-UA carriers, but I can say that SkyWest is far and away the best of the UX carriers.

I've only flown goJet UX a couple of times (ORD-STL runs), but they've been good to me. I got to fly on the first revenue service flight of a new CR7 with them last fall in F. I celebrated the occasion by going through three drinks on the <300 mile flight. ^

I've done that one several times, and there is no good way to break up that trip. I remember spending the night in Utica once.

I can't recall seeing a near-vertical line going to the upward side on a stock chart.

Do a historical chart search for just about any tech stock between 1997-1999.

Sure, but I wasn't in the market then. I'm just thrilled that I made a good pick.

It had a new plane smell. The FAs had to unwrap the trays in the galley carts.

A 6% increase in a day is definitely :-:.

Indeed, but I've still been quite happy with modest daily gains. ^

That's an intra-day chart. Happens a lot when companies surprise on the upside. Of course, it can go the other way too.

For all of you looking for new lines.

I was a roadtripper growing up also. One of the virtues of growing up in the Midwest (STL) is that there are a lot of places that are a 2-day drive, even with a few kids in the car. Pretty much anything that's less than 1200 miles is in-range.

We never did a trip like your Halifax run, though - that's just ridiculous. Summer vacation each year was pretty uniformly 2 weeks. Couple of days of driving each way, then 7-10 days at the destination(s).

It was ridiculous indeed. I don't think we ever did a longer-than-one-week vacation after we stopped doing summers in BKK - oftentimes two separate weeks in the summer, but not together.

That roadtrip you describe is insane. 2600 miles of driving to spend one day at the destination? Yikes.

Yeah. It was like a mileage run without the EQMs.

Oooohhh, I've only done ACK by plane (from EWR), never the ferry. Probably the smallest airport I've flown into/out of to date.

All of this talk about long roadtrips from CLE makes me happy that we never went any further by car than BOS or YUL.

Both my sister and I went to college in BOS, so we did that drive every August and June. (My parents did it QUITE a few many more times than that - they were pretty faithful about coming to our concerts/shows/operas, etc. And as I said earlier, their roadtrip tolerance is amazingly high.) It's exactly 10 hours from door to door and yes, it does suck. Phudnik is right - it really should be done in one go. You can leave at a non- hour in the morning and make it by dinner and then pass out.

I suppose the one good thing about all these roadtrips was that we did have pretty good family bonding. And thankfully, none of us were all that tall or long-legged (at the time). There was a lot of singing (including the complete recitations of entire Broadway musicals and Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, music and dialogue). I ended up writing my "tell us about a tradition in your family/culture/town" essay for my Stanford application about road trips with the fam. It was pretty tongue in cheek because I was pretty burned out after all the rest of the college applications, but apparently they liked it well enough...

Did you find a site that allows for searches on JJ International availability?

There's a common thread of revenge in there somehow, but after that I give up.

Oh yeah, sure it can. But even with that it's not near the 1y target. I'm just pissed that I didn't buy more.

Sounds like ORD-MEM. For a little while before we got married, my wife lived in Memphis while I was in Chicago. When there weren't <$200 e-fares and I wanted to pay a visit, I'd leave work at 2p on a Friday, and roll into Memphis at midnight.

Central Illinois is mind-numblingly dull. It's like I-80 across Nebraska.

It's worse at night, and the wonderment is enhanced by all the swine farms and associated smells.
