I think the HTC G1 (the very first Android phone) would do something like that. I had a friend with one that would do something like that if the ringer wasn't turned off.

Yeah, depends on the phone manufacturer. Some do, most don't.

YouTube recognized the They Might Be Giants soundtrack that I embedded in my takeoff video and called copyright shenanigans on me. With ~2 minutes of audio I'm not sure I can claim fair use. So I'm reposting with no audio. The version with TMBG is way better.

I am fairly certain it is an algorithm and uses an offshoot of the Pandora project.

Since fair use is not well defined and is at the discretion of the court, it's not worth the effort. It's sad really.
