OK, B:rolleyes:X -- at the risk of lots of  from my fellow B:rolleyes:Xers & FTers for the AUS DO...I am strongly considering changing my plans due to the impending weather event! My biggest issue is that my ex is abroad on a biz trip & is supposed to get back early friday -- obviously that may not happen. While I can make accommodations for my son -- I feel that maybe this trip is not 'meant to be'!

I really don't want to deal with any  myself -- so am thinking to take advantage of said WX waiver.

So, can I just cxl & get a CO credit -- or can I not outright cancel unless the actual ft is cxlled?! Also, while the rebooking fee is waived -- can I rebook to any other location? Sorry for the elementary ?s -- but I really have no experience w/WX waivers & pending trips. Any advice is much appreciated!:)

Hey it is good questions, I have never had to deal with one except were I was already stuck at a connecting airport, where of course they work with you to get you to dest ASAP. So I am waiting answers as well!

Your flight is supposed to be canceled before they will issue a credit to the original form of payment. IME, many CO agents are very flexible with weather waiver rules so the best option is usually to call and ask for what you want...

I don't think they will rebook you to a completely different city, but they may be willing to issue you a voucher that you can then use to purchase another ticket.

Thanks for weighing-in -- I guess I'll just sit & see how this weather 'event' unfolds!

This is possible. I've used canceled tix due to WX waivers and reused them on completely diff itins.

The only thing they waive is the change fee and you're still responsible for the diff in fare.

I figured it would work. I'm assuming the rules still state that they can't issue a voucher until the flight is canceled - correct? Either way, agents are likely able to be flexible with the written rules...

Yes, I understand about the fare diff. I will see what I need to do.

Am on a conference call now -- but will be back later!;)

A wise approach, IMO. The track and impact of the storm still seems to be up in the air a bit...

I have to deal with the  of CM getting their waiver as well, which I don't think will happen. My issue is simply getting TO NYC. I think Saturday morning will be fine.

If there is a residual they will issue a voucher. Otherwise it will just become an inactive PNR with notes added for the waiving of the change fee (unless you change your itin at the same time).

Agreed - if I needed a new warm coat, I'd probably go with the evolution. I was excited about the pants, but none in my size. Problem with being big and tall...

You're already on a flexible ticket.
