Good morning, Box. Not looking forward to the upcoming snow, as you can imagine. Yet more delays in the construction of the Lake House. :(

Yes, CM invited me into the box. It's a scary place to a newbie   but once you come on in, the water's fine :D

Glad you jumped in and are now a competent swimmer! :D

I could look in the school library, sure, but I doubt I would find much. The school that I am taking these now-unnecessary prereqs at is a two-year county college that is very heavy on technical specialty majors.

Thanks. :-:

As I'd said, it's been a while since I have been in a position of having people report to me, and I'd like to have a better idea of how to lead that group.

CM. A good book that I like to recommend to new Managers is "It's Your Ship" by Michael D. Abrashoff. It's a good book about motivational leadership. Not a "step-by-step" guide, just good reading and good concepts. I have a copy I could lend you if you can't get hold of it.

Northeast Braces for a Super Storm Thursday, Friday
The same storm that brought a gentle snowfall across Texas Tuesday will reach the Northeast, but in the form of an atmospheric monster with damaging winds, blinding snow, torrential rain, huge waves and flooding.
This stuff just makes me laugh. Monster? Blinding? Torrential? Huge? Wow...

Well, our new applianced will be delivered tomorrow. We're getting:

Fridge, Gas range, Microwave (over the range), Dishwasher, Front load washer, Gas dryer, and pedestals for washer/dryer

The place we ordered from will deliver and bring them inside but not install anything. Would you install yourself or hire a professional? The kitchen remodel is already paid for and includes the dishwasher installation but that's it (I think).

Is mounting a washer/dryer on pedestals and balancing the washer very tough? For the gas range and dryer, do gas lines have to be bled or is it just plug-and-play?

I'd appreciate any advice y'all could give. Thanks :D

Better check with your local township about the gas piece. Did you get permits for your kitchen construction?

A good deal of our snow in NJ melted yesterday due to the pouring rain...but we're due to get some back tomorrow. I can't find a projection of exactly how many inches we're talking about here - just assorted reports of "heavy snow," "100% precipitation," and those dramatic map images people were sharing here yesterday...

I see so many different reports - 2" 6" 15".... I guess we'll just have to wait and see what we get.

6-12" isn't too bad... As we all know, that will probably translate in to about 6-8" max. Or, it'll just rain. :)

 to this winter weather
