On a side note, I think that the reason that hotels are so booked is also due to the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France 2008 at Magny-Cour just outside Paris being run this weekend. It is big event. May go and watch the qualifying on Saturday! Looks like it is busy weekend in Paris.
OF,
Midweek there is a big convention until Thursday. Saturday it is the Music Fest. Which is why Friday night the rates are reasonable.
BTW, it is one of the better weekends to be in Paris. Left Bank will be the place to hang out on Saturday night.

Hi - I'm one of the people who hadn't replied yet to the thread (sorry for those who were hoping for another empty spot). I had emailed with Lucky about it and forgot to actually post here. My bad.

I'm not 100% sure I'm going to stay in Paris on Friday night, but I'll definitely be at the Le Mridien Montparnasse Saturday night (10k *wood points).

Hmm, that link doesn't work for me. Any clue how much it would be, or where it's located?

no fear with my changing the Hilton Orly, unless an angel decides to gift me 2 nights at the Four Seasons Hotel George V.

I am very in-touch with having a late and champagne filled Saturday evening, and being able to conveniently wake up at the last possible moment to walk (stumble) to free shuttle to Orly for the 10:55am departure.

This angel cannot gift you 2 nights at Four Seasons.
You are welcome to join me at my favourite place where I have champagne in Paris:The Regency Bar at Prince de Galles. No evening is complete in Paris for me without a glass of Champagne at The Regency Bar.

^^ I couldn't agree more! Absolutely!

I am quite curious what OpenSkies will be pouring as Champagne (and/or sparkling wine) for this inaugural flight. Any ideas (or thoughts)? IMHO, a TATL flight (especially to Paris) is all about the Champers.

I would hope it is DOM 1994 if not at least 2000. Will settle for Krug as well.
Caviar would go well with DOM. Afterall it is the inaugural flight as you noted to Paris.

This, of course, still leaves the slight, but enticing, possibility that a few lucky folks will get an opportunity in a second chance drawing for the remaining seats. I know the odds still don't favor any one person, but I choose to remain optimistic and am not canceling my hotel reservation just yet!

This offer from RP and OS is incredible, and I sincerely hope that the questioning by a couple of people in the other thread doesn't disgruntle Randy or the airline to the point that they don't select alternates when and if seats become available. The vast majority of posters have been nothing but congratulatory of the winners, and I am among those who think it's pretty cool that anyone gets to go.
well i hope a few more do get a chance like urself. id have to bow out at this point. its getting very expensive to get to JFK right now from FAT and making plans now for next weekend. You all have fun!!!

Montparnesse has no lounge. Etoile has a great lounge. The breakfast & evening spread are worth more than the extra 2K SPG points.
