I'm also arriving late night on the 11th (on UA ex-NRT). I believe the first official event is the drinks at the Swissotel Friday night, but a few of us either arriving on the 11th or already there may be open to doing something. Not sure who else is coming in on the 11th, I believe RestlessnRNO may be.

Well just by sheer accident it turns out my mileage run coincides with the SIN DO. Hope this post is the correct format and looking forward to meeting fellow FT'ers halfway around the world.

To Blank Sheet

Presently seated in 15B, but am looking at the two seats in 10 if they free up. Happy to share a taxi to the Conrad after the flight lands.

Carry on has FT tag.

Unfortunately, due to work, I need to cancel my plans for this DO.

Two bits of good news however:

1) Row 15 window seats just opened up on UA SFO-HKG-SIN (Thurs) and SIN-HKG-SFO (Mon) - grab them if you want them.

2) I exchanged my ticket for a Labor Day trip to EZE...hope to see some of you there!!

Best wishes and eat some fish head curry for me, please.

Regrettably,

Looks like some attrition here ...

Is there a list of attendees anywhere, and if so, could we
put it up on page 1?

I was noticing that as well. As we seem to be becoming a smallish group, the plurality of whom appear to be staying at the Conrad, is there any chance we could think about relocating Saturday dinner to the Esplanade branch of No Signboard?

I'll be with you on UA803, seat 13H, and heading for the Sheraton. If it works out, we can split the taxi.

My upgrade hasn't cleared yet but it looks pretty good, knock on wood.

I'll be in the RCC or quite possibly (depending on 803's gate) the nicer IMHO ANA lounge. Nice sake and shochu bar there as well as a noodle bar.

Are you at Sheraton, as the participant listing shows Swissotel? If you are at Swissotel, then a shared cab would work out since they are close by, but for the Sheraton, IME the taxi drivers would tend to be more inclined to jog over and take the Pan Island Expressway towards town instead of the ECP which is a straight shot to the Conrad and Marina Bay area.

Looking forward to seeing new people as those that I met two years ago at the SIN DO.

Thanks, Willie, I've bookmarked the page.

The Esplanade NSS probably doesn't have the funky atmosphere
of the Geylang branch, but Greg's suggestion does have merit.
The reviews say that the prices are 10% more at the fancy new
branch, but that is nothing compared to the convenience and the
draw of comfy leather chairs.

Saturday Dinner at No Signboard Seafood

I have double booked reservations at both the Geylang and Esplande No Signboard Seafood locations for Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7PM. We will meet at the Conrad lobby at 6:30PM.

I won't be able to get the 10% discount that MJM got because he has to be present with his VIP card. The total cost (when you consider taxi if we go to Geylang) should be about S$55-$60 per person, it will depend one how much we eat and drink.

Please post you preference, if any, on which location you prefer. I would like to cancel the second reservation by Jan 3.

gfowler-ord-1k - Thank you for organizing this. Is the difference, the Esplanade branch is walking distance, and the Geylang is not? In any case, I'm happy with what everyone else decides.
