I live on Orchard Rd., so if anyone is willing to share a cab from there, please send me a note on peng19 at yahoo .
Mike, I will be joining you guys for the Saturday lunch, as well as the historical walk. Can I bring a non-FT member friend to the dinner, etc?
Thanks!
Jenn

We have a terrific group again this year and I am looking forward to seeing all of you soon.
Sorry to note that transpac will not be able to make it this year, but on the bright side we have a large number of recent members to FT as well as several FT spouses joining us.
So, finally let me wish you all a very Merry Christmas tomorrow!

I also tried to find this place online.. no luck. The Basic Essence website only shows a location in Holland Village, not Tampines. Hmm...
Are people generally looking for massage / reflexology or full-service spa stuff?
Either way, I'm game if the price is right. Unfortunately, the spa facilities appear to be women-only or men-only, depending on location.

izzik, the places we found last year seemed to welcome men as well as women. They were bare bones in terms of amenities, but that's fine with me at the price.

That's good to hear - I suspect massage/reflex. is alot easier for both genders since clothes stay on.

Generally, the further you venture away from the tourist belt, the cheaper the services are. Places like Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh and Tampines would be a good spot to check out, although I'm not sure if there are reflexology svcs available, but the local shops do have rather good deals. For those in need of glasses, you can get one for about S$120 or less (regular short-sighted ones). Good for those without vision coverage. Plenty of optician shops in Toa Payoh.
I'm not in SIN now, else I would more than happy to check out this coming weekend. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it (something cropped up last minute). Will know in a few days time.
GK Aljunied EW9 would be the station to go to. I read somewhere on FT that it's about 5 mins walk, but I think it's more like 10 mins. Here's the map to see the location of the restaurant in relation to MRT.

It seems that there a quite a few members who claim to live in the US or elsewhere in their biodata on FT, but now that the do is coming nearer claim to live in Singapore. Surprising.....why?
I live in HKG, but travel a lot, so I stated accordingly.

I need help about the MRT - I've stayed at a hotel near the Al Junied and taken the MRT there. The No Signboard is near the Stadium and I'm not sure how one walks there - I'd certainly like to know
I couldn't really tell from the map or was I missing something?

MJM: if you happen to update the itineraries page, would you please change my inbound to:
14 JAN SQ222 SYD-17:00 SIN-21:55
Still take Thursday to London. And still stay at the Hyatt Friday and Saturday nights. And I am still leaving from SIN Sunday around 6pm to Jakarta for 1 or 2 day visit. And now I will miss the RCC Narita gathering ...

MJM,
Could you make a small change to the website?
The walk will be on Sunday IIRC and the lunch on Saturday. So the walk will not be after the lunch on Sunday.....
Meeting point for the lunch on Saturday is;
Hindu temple on Serangoon Road (number 141)

Roger that on the update requests. With a little luck I shall emerge from the mountain of paperwork that awaited nme on my return to the office yesterday from the Japanese New Year's Holiday which lasts until the 3rd of JAn.
Updates are assured at the latest by Saturday and with any luck will be done a day or two in advance of that. I am pleased to make any updates requested or posted up until it is time to munch on beautiful peppery crabs.
After that you will have to reach me at the Intercontinental in SIN.
Talk to you all soon, and again, welcome to all the recent additions. We are going to have a heck of a time on the equator!
