A question via PM was asked about the dress code for Saturday night.
I can answer for the gents and then I suppose the ladies can make assumptions from that.
It is hot and muggy and you will be most comfortable in cotton or other things that breathe (not suggesting wearing a live animal or pre-drunken phone call FTer though
).
Polo shirt/ t-shirt/ or similar and jeans or your favorite casual trousers is perfect. I do not see people going around in shorts all that much in SIN, although the ladies are partial to mini-skirts and no sleeves.
This is a dinner for which you might consider dressing as you would to go to a pizza place in the States. While all coming are not from the US, you have either likely visited or seen films about that mode of dress.
I plan to bring one pair pf jeans to see me through the whole weekend and a couple of t-shirts and a Raiders jersey.
Hope that helps anybody who may have had the same question.
Mike

JAn,
No idea actually. Maybe someone else (e.g. Wilson, Ink, Keith, etc. locally) will know.
Being of the Kodak Instamatic gender, i.e. "Point and Shoot" I have not paid much attention until last year's dinner.
Talk to you soon,
Mike

Been a longtime SIN resident and have found the cheapest and best pepper crab at "No Signboard seafood". The have a couple of outlets, the best one is in Geyland and open-air. (I will be there from the 21st for a MR )

Dresscode
Hmmmmmm.......I though some are going to wear SQ F PJs
I'm thinking of Bermudas; my usual dresscode; but since we'll prob go somewhere after dinner; which I'm sure we will; I'm thinking maybe khakis. Jeans will be fine for din but post-din, some places are no-no on jeans
Toilets
I've never been there to eat
I know, I know, a SINner who's never been there
I'm guessing here but I'll expect squat toilets there as Geylang's an older part of town where its more common BUT you never know

I've been to a place at Pasir Ris before which is quite nice and has a good selection of food fares....the best part is, you get a really nice view of the sun setting. The name escapes me though....I'll have to check it out again when I get home end of the month.
Not sure if they have started selling their wares in Chinatown for Chinese New Year yet, but if they have, check it out. They got some interesting stuff there.
Anyone know why UA837 NRT-SIN is F5 C0 D0 on Jan 29th? I'm beginning to wonder if I'll clear on my NF.

My chances of showing up are thinnning. I've still a few hours to work out my tickets...
Tried to cancel my res at the Conrad and they popped me with a one day penalty...
I've got my fingers crossed... might skim in for a day before continuing to BKK.
a courtesy request that plans and locations be updated to this thread for us unorganized types..please

Good news/bad news -
Just got off the phone with Bennie:
All eastbound UA flights from NRT and HKG are way oversold.
This means that she'll likely leave on Sunday.
This also means that VDBs and op-ups will be available,
it looks like.
