I myself am Metro-dependent, and I think a while ago we established that the location should be Metro-accessible, so Danski, you shouldn't have trouble getting there.
Danski and Trojan Horse, I hope you can both make it!
Take care, and enjoy this great weather!!

I can get us a private room at Ozio (martini bar/restraunt) on 2/12. I think it's a perfect place for this, and it appears we don't have an offical location.
Ozio is on 18th and M st (at the Connecticuit intersection).
Someone give me the green light and I'll book it.</font>

I do not know if this is appropriate on this page, but I am making my first trip to DC at the end of this month and would like to get some info about what are must sees in the area. I have booked a capital tour with my senator as well as a Supreme court tour, BEP tour and Library of Congress tour. We plan on seeing Mt Vernon and the Smithsonian. Is there anything else that is a must see?

I'd say, for lack of Maryland input (or MD knowledge on my part), if there's no objection, let's try out Ozio. It's on the red line, so MD people will have easy access.

FDR monument is pretty interesting, too. Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Leave about a half day to walk among the memorials listed above-- and do it on a day when the weather is nice.Of the Smithsonians, the Air and Space Museum is a must-see.

Arlington Cemetary has a changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier every hour on the hour, and the cemetary is open until about 5. You can see the JFK Eternal Flame, and also the monument to Women in the Military.
The Iwo Jima/Marine Memorial is nice to look at, and gives a great view of DC.
Know that Mt. Vernon closes a little early: I think the last entry is at 4, and you have to leave by 5.
Hope this helps!!

Confirmed Ozio at 6:30pm 2/12 for dinner. We have the separate, upstairs, part of the dinnig room. Those coming early can have happy drinks at the first floor (reserved 2nd table on the left).
FYI, no parking on the street until 6:30pm. Email me with any specific questions. Reservation's under: Washington Flyers.
See you there,
David
