Monthly DC Happy Hours

Okay, guys, this topic came up at the lunch today. So, what I'd love to do is see if there is interest for a monthly happy hour, say on the second Thursday of every month?

I will be more than happy to put together something at my little place and extend to you folks happy hour prices for as long as you want if you are up for it.

What do you folks think?

Sounds like fun to me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

how many people came for lunch today?

All I can say is - what a shame Sydney is 10,000 air miles from downtown DC, or we'd be there more regularly. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Joh and I had a very enjoyable night last there last month with a dozen other nice local and not-so-local FT'ers at the bar mdtony has an involvement with ...... called staccato. Bet we are the only guests to ever arrive there by cab direct from Dulles toting 70 pound suitcases? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Great host, great prices, nice lively central spot near a million restaurants, and can pesonally vouch that special orders like a case of Fosters are handled with consummate ease and grace. Hope the regular get-togethers in DC gets gets off the ground. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

There is a popular spot at Metro Center that I frequent. The man with the beverage-making capabilities is in great debt to me for the assistance I provide him in building his FF accounts. I'm sure he'd be happy to host some folks with the same interest in air travel as he has.

For what it's worth.

And I had a nice time at lunch today. Sorry the seating arrangements were not so conducive for more group conversation.

And it's SYZYGY....not SIZE GUY! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

Tony, keep us informed as it sounds like a great idea!! I'm always up for hanging out, but please no "accompanyment" at Staccato on FT night... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

syzgy, if you want to give me that guy's contact information, I'd be more than happy to work with him.

In the meantime, let's plan for a happy hour next Thursday at my humble little place. We've had a lot of fun there, so while we're working out details for the other place, let's go with what works. See you all there at 6:30. There's no need to let me know if you're coming, it's a casual, show up if you want to kind of thing.
For directions, et al, you can go to:

Since I don't know any of the DC flyertalkers, how do I find you at this place?

Also, is there street parking or should I take the metro?

Alysia, just ask for me. As for parking, it's not easy to find a place, but you can do it. You may have to walk a little bit.

The nearest Metro is about a ten minute walk from the bar.

See you there!

I'll be there from 5:30 (depending on traffic)-7:30 (gotta get home for Survivor!)...

I think I will be there. If you see someone with the confused deer-in-headlights-look, it is likely me.

Steve
