Credit appears on the billing statement for the month the fee/charge hit. It is not an instantaneous credit that you'll see in the account online, it only applies at close of statement.
The year your purchase counts against is based on the statement date, not date of purchase. Tickets purchased late in the year, especially in December, will almost certainly count against the benefit in the following calendar year. Do not wait until the end of the calendar year to use your credits!

I used points and cash to purchase an AA flight through the citi reward site and so far have not received reimbursement. It seemed intuitive that purchasing airline tickets through the citi site would be reimbursed but perhaps not. The coding is:

Check the wiki at the top of this post. You have to manually request the credit when you do a points + cash booking through the TY portal. There's even a link in the wiki to the post that describes this.

This seems like a dumb question but I did not get the result I thought was obvious so here goes.
I used points and cash to purchase tickets an AA through the citi travel site. I purposely made the cash part $250 expecting to get reimbursed through the Prestige Air Travel Credit. Unfortunately I do not see the credit on my statement. Is there some reason airline travel with cash and points is not eligible for the credit?

I did the same thing back in February and my airline credit has never posted. Before I made the booking I even asked them to confirm that this would qualify for the credit and they said that it would. I sent a secure message asking where the credit was and they said it should post after 8 weeks or something like that, but it never did. I intended to follow up but haven't because I subsequently purchased additional direct airfare that should qualify for the credit.

Citi is a screwed up BANK!
Contact Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Presidential Escalation department will send you response within one week!
Terrible bank when asking for reimbursement and rewards in a timely manner.

I have to admit this has never happened to me. I called the Citi Prestige contact number, went through the automated menu and asked for a representative. I was told call volume was large and to call back later followed by a hang up. I was expecting to be put on hold but not hung up on, pretty poor customer service for the Prestige Card.

Airline Credit
Question: I want to use my $250 airline credit (AA). Should i just go on AA.com website and purchase their gift card with Prestige card and the Credit should apply next billing cycle ? Also I opened the card in March 2016, does that mean I get $250 credit (March-dec 2016) and Another $250 credit (from Jan-Marc 2017) ? I am planning to cancel the card in March 2017.
Thank you for your help/answers.

Check the wiki at the top of this page. It tells you if gift certificate purchases work for American Airlines, and what the credit cycle is.

I'm planning on using the Prestige card to purchase Economy Plus upgrades on an upcoming United flight. This will qualify for airline expense reimbursement, right?

I searched the thread but didn't see an answer... Does anyone know if the Prestige credit would work for an Alaska ticket that also includes one of the $99 companion fares? I was assuming it would work but was hoping that the companion fare didn't somehow change the tickets to make them come from some third party or something.

#254
The companion fare is just a discount code, it doesn't change how the ticket is charged. The charge still comes from Alaska.

Korean Air
Does anyone know if baggage fees on Korean Air or Asiana Air are covered with the $250 airline expense reimbursement offered by the Prestige card??
