FAQ
1. Are these cards churnable?
Yes, they are. BUT you’ll have to wait anywhere from 12 to 26 months before applying again. Approvals have happened at the 13 month mark and denials at 24.
There is no set 18 month rule, but always err on the side of caution when churning.
Also- it’s from DATE OF APPROVAL and not from date of cancellation.
2.What are the most current rules in applying for these cards?
#ONLY ONE APPLICATION in a day (make that 30 hours to be safe)
#No more than 2 apps in 65 (approximately) days.
Example:
Day 1 40K personal platinum
Day 2 or later 25-30K personal gold
65+ days later 40K business
While the day limits are a little flexible by a few days either way and YMMV, the rules themselves are not flexible.
3. How long does it take for the Admiral passes to arrive?
For the better part, it takes about 3 months. This is not a set number, and some have received theirs sooner. It's been deduced that the passes are handled by a 3rd party that mails them in batches. Please don’t call Citi for the passes, because you’ll mostly find a CSR who doesn't know better and will give you wrong information.
4. Can I apply for a business card if I don’t have a business?
Technically, you can. But you may be asked for a 4506-T form, or to provide proof of business or/and a copy of a bill with your business name on it. If you don't already have a credit history for the business name you plan to use (meaning this is your first rodeo) then it is recommended you use your name as the business name with no income and 0 as years in business.
5. How do I get the statement credit?
First, you have to make sure if the offer you signed up for gave you A $150 credit or UP TO A $150 statement credit. For the 1st, any AA coded purchase ($50 AA GC seems to be the simplest option here) will/should trigger it. For the 2nd, you’ll have to spend $150 to get the $150 credit.
For more information on what will work and what won’t, please see here (thanks sdsearch) and here (thanks dogbyte)
6. Does the $150 account credit (for AA purchases using the VISA or AMEX) count against the spending required to receive the initial mileage bonus?
No. It does not. (Put differently: any account credit you receive has no impact on your spending total for purposes of earning the "X thousand miles for $Y spent in the first Z months" bonus.)
7. Can I buy Visa gift cards to meet my minimum spend?
There’s a very good chance that it’ll be coded as a cash advance.
It’s recommended to call citi and have them set your Cash Advance limit to zero. (thanks KennyBSAT)
8. Do I get 10% back when redeeming miles for awards?
It depends. First, the rebate program (which began in April 2012) applies only to holders of these cards:
Also, the maximum rebate for any cardholder in a single calendar year is 10,000 miles. Having more than one qualifying Citi AA card will not allow you to receive a larger rebate; the restriction applies per AAdvantage account.
9. At what locations are my one day Club passes valid?

That's weird, I just applied for both the VISA and AMEX 50k offers using the two browser trick except I took it further and did each on two different PC's. One application went through, the other had an error processing. I started getting worried that maybe Citi was denying my second my application. So I then just went on the PC that sent my application successfully and re-did it again and it went through. I'm not sure why that happened, maybe I did it back to back too soon? I hope I didn't ruin my chances of getting the second card.

I applied on 3/21 and got the cards today and confirmed on the phone that both have the 50k bonus and statement credit.

Just applied...
Just applied for both visa and amex personal cards through using the link in the first post.
Used two browsers, but at the end was prompted with chat sessions to finalize the apps. I had them both going on at the same time, and then didn't get any decision from either. What was that about?
My Fico is 763 as of today for what it's worth.
Thanks,

Is anyone having issues getting the AAdmiral lounge passes? I applied for the card back in November, got my bonus and $150 credit, but still haven't received the 2 passes. They keep telling me the system is having issues (as they deal with a 3rd party) and I'm still waiting to get those passes. Too bad I've flown AA a few times between Nov-now and could have used free lounge access.

I applied for this card around 3/1/2012 and was instantly approved. My first statement cut mid-month. Today I received my two lounge passes in the mail.
In contrast, my husband applied for this card about 2 weeks later and was instantly approved, but his first statement hasn't cut yet. He hasn't gotten his companion certificate or anything in the mail yet (he app'd the original post's offer while I app'd travel5).
(I had also applied for a Chase Marriott card that day and though the first statement hasn't even cut for that card yet, I received my Silver Elite card in the mail today from them, so it's been a good day. ^ )

10% back on award redemptions
I applied and was approved for the Visa and Amex cards under the 50k + $100 offer. I called to verify the bonuses, and the rep told me then when I redeem miles I'll get 10% back, no time limit. How does this work? Do I need to pay the taxes with the card, or redeem through a special number?

On one of my cards, the rep said I also had a benefit she had not heard of, "some sort of certificate with a lot of acronyms" (she put me on hold to ask a supervisor what this was, but I accidentally hung up when I tried to put the call on speaker).
The rep did say that there were new benefits just rolled out today.

It seems I have most of those benefits on both of my newly-opened Citi AA cards, in addition to the 50k for $3k spend and $100 statement credit after first AA purchase and double miles on AA purchases in the first year.

Received the below offer today, but when I click on the link it doesn't show me the offer details in application. This is the first time I am applying for Citi AA and want to make sure the will honor the offer..
Is this worth applying ? If I apply for both visa and amex what are the chances of getting approved and will it count as two hits ?
Visa (Personal): https://www.citicards.com/cards/acq/...&screenID=3001
Amex (Personal): https://www.citicards.com/cards/acq/...&screenID=3033
- One time $150 statement credit for the first eligible American Airlines purchase made within 12 months of cardmembership
- Earn 50,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after $3,000 in purchases within the first 4 months of cardmembership2 — enough for two domestic round-trip flight awards
- Two Admirals Club® one day passes for complimentary access to over 40 Admirals Clubs worldwide upon enrollment as a cardmember

My daughter received the same offer so I can verify the validity of the links posted by dongrilla. Just as mentioned with the 75k offers, there is some level of faith required as no landing page exists for these offers. That thread proved quite successful for many people so I would feel pretty confident with these offers as well.
Actually, my daughter's offer included a business (VISA) link as given below:
