Just received the following offer in my email:
As a cardmember, you'll benefit from:
* One time $100 statement credit for the first eligible American Airlines purchase made within 12 months of cardmembership
* Earn 50,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after $3,000 in purchases within the first 4 months of cardmembership — enough for two domestic round-trip flight awards
* Receive One Companion Certificate after you become a cardmember. Use your Citi® / AAdvantage® card to purchase a domestic roundtrip coach fare on American Airlines and two fly for the price of one — no minimum fare restrictions apply
* Two AAdvantage® miles for every $1 you spend on eligible American Airlines purchases and one mile per $1 spent on other purchases for the first 12 months of cardmembership. After the first 12 months, continue to earn one mile per $1 spent on purchases
* $0 annual fee for the first 12 months, then $85 ($75 for the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Visa® card) per year thereafter
Offer expires December 31st and has typical "first time Citi Cardholders" exclusion.

This looks good if you can spend $3k in 4 months and $100 + companion certificate is worth 25,000 points (comparing making 75,000 points on the other cards to the 50,000 points on this card).
How much would you guys rate 25,000 points to be?
saacman5033, are you a current Citi AAdvantage card holder? do you know how you got targeted for this offer?

I value my points on the order of $0.015 ea so say $375 for 25k. This deal looks especially intriguing for residents of Hawaii and Alaska as the companion cert will be more valuable.
I am a current citi business card holder but have not been a personal cardholder since I cancelled my last 2 last month.

I got the American Business Visa Offer until 10/31
$50 statement credit
No Annual Fee
40K for $1000 in 4 months
10K additional for spending 5K in 6 months.
I got turned down last year on the 75K offer as they said I was a previous cardholder, I'm going to try again next month as I'm not sure if I ever had a AA Business Visa .

For someone who uses AA miles for domestic coach awards, I'd say this offer looks superior to the 75k offers. The companion cert is comparable to the extra 25k in that case and the $100 makes the difference.

As for the companion cert, I interpret their use of "domestic" to mean only within the lower 48, especially since they make special mention to Alaska and Hawaii.

I'd be very skeptical about the companion cert, until all the details are revealed.
In the past, the conditions on similar companion certs have made them close to worthless. For example, they may require more expensive booking classes (H V M L K or W) that mean that two cheaper class tickets end up being about the same price.
(3) Companion Certificate: This Citi® / AAdvantage® card offer is valid only for first-time
Citi® / AAdvantage® cardmembers who apply pursuant to this offer for an account by December 31, 2011. Companion certificate expires 6 months after the issue date. Passenger is responsible for taxes, fees and charges in association with use of companion certificate. Your companion offer arrives in the form of a certificate 8-10 weeks after account approval; details, terms and conditions, certain restrictions, and restricted dates apply and will be disclosed on the certificate. Your discount code must be redeemed in conjunction with domestic travel purchased on your Citi® / AAdvantage® card. Travel must be booked and purchased in economy inventory. The companion offer will be fulfilled as a 50% discount off each passenger's travel. For residents of Alaska and Hawaii, the companion certificate is valid for round-trip travel originating in either of those two states and continuing to the 48 contiguous United States.

At least in the OP's email, he wrote:

Looks like no minimum fare restrictions on the companion certificate... Wonder if Hawaii counts as domestic?

I would think that using these links would be no different than the links in the 75k thread. I would still refer to the excellent guide maintained by jcmitchell21 in that thread if applying for one (or more) of these offers.

Yes, the links are from the email offer I received. Same thing goes for the links in the 75k thread (though the links there did not come from me), they are links originally targeted through email. This is the reason there is no landing page for these offers as the email serves as the landing page.
