What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is no longer available. It was a charge card (pay balance in full each month), but it has been discontinued and many accounts were converted to Ink Plus cards with the same account numbers.

Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. It allows you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).
What are the best current Ink Plus offers?

The Ink Plus card is no longer available for new applicants. There is a separate thread for The Ink Business Preferred card.

Links for non-targeted Ink Plus 60K offer ($5,000 spend/3 months; annual $95 fee not waived)
There is a report of a 70k offer for the Chase Ink Plus available only through your local Chase Bank office, extended to August 20, 2016. If you recently accepted the 60K offer, you may be able to get the extra 10K simply by asking for it.

There is a no-fee, UR-earning Ink Cash card: https://creditcards.chase.com/ink-bu.../ink-cash-card

After being denied, how long should I wait before applying again for the same card?
How long should I wait after closing my card before applying again for the same card?

Are there special earning categories?
Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)

In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.

NOT ALL Ink cards earn the 5x and 2x bonus categories above. Not "Old Ink Bold" that earns 7,500 bonus points for $25,000 spend, 15,000 points for $50,000, and 25,000 points for $100,000 spend.

Where can I find the Ink Plus Guide to Benefits?
What are the rules for transferring UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?
Closing Ink Plus cards
It is possible to pay the annual fee for the Chase Ink Plus business card, then close the account and get a refund of the fee up to 6 months after it was charged. This provides a total of 18 months of earning up to 5X points for free. Make sure your points are transferred out (either to another UR account owned by you or a spouse, or to an air/hotel partner) before you close the account.

Checked with a banker 3 weeks ago but did not have any preapproval. Checked 2 days ago and he said I had preapproval. Applied but received 7-10 business days. He called for me and the agent said that they are processing application.

I am fairly good with making sure preapproval is legit with fixed APR etc, but didnt check this time as the same banker told me 3 weeks ago that I wasnt preapproved. I just assumed he knew what he was doing. After receiving 7-10 days notice, I checked the paper work and it did not have fixed APR. SUCKS!!

Banker kept saying it was preapproved.

I am at 5/24, could have easily waited...should have waited.

Anyone figure out which stores fall into the "shipping" merchant category to leverage ink preferred 3x on shipping? I'm uessing fedex, usps, ups and independent shippers. Any other (big box) stores?

What has been the experience regarding Chase shutting down Ink Plus for those who regularly MS -- buying Staples gift cards up to $4,000 a month.

I'm using the same and earn about 15000 ur a month with my fedex bills. I'm going to try my packing company to see if shipping supplies will code 3x. Also going to try a cargo company and custom broker. I'm not expecting good luck

As expected, it was a denial due to 5/24. Rep wont budge.
I fall under 5/24 on March 10th...maybe will try call after as I will still be under 30 day reconsideration time line. My understanding is credit bureaus dont get updated till next calendar month, does anyone have any data points suggesting them getting approved couple of days after they fall under 5/24.

Couple of questions regarding the Ink Plus 5x bonus, help / advice is greatly appreciated, trying to understand the best strategy to maximise my points earnings.

1. Can I use the Mileage Plus X App to buy a Giftcard from Staples.... subsequentl earn 3 x bonus with MP and 5 x Bonus with Ink for purchase

2. Can I then use this purchased gift card to buy a Visa Card Instore?

3. Can I do the same at Office Depot / Office Max? They do not sell Visa Cards online, are they available in store?

4. Could i use the Ink Plus card to directly buy Staples Visa Giftcards online?

Hoping to get this answered here...

Got approval for the Ink preferred back in early February. That put me at 1/24. I have 800+ and a very good income. About a few weeks after that, I applied for the Ink cash and finally got a letter saying I was denied bc of too many apps.

I plan to apply in branch for the CSR next week. Should I recon the ink cash first or should i apply for the CSR and then once i secure that, recon the ink cash? Am I waiting too long to recon the ink cash?

YMMV, but to answer your questions...

I've called around Staples and OM/OD in my area and they will not accept gift cards to purchase other gift cards. I think others have had some success.

But, you can purchase as many gift cards as you want (I don't believe there's a limit, maybe there is?) if you use your Ink card directly.

To the best of my knowledge, No. However I communicated with someone who said they could sometimes buy amazon gift cards at staples with MPX.

No. You can purchase a Vanilla Visa Gift Card in store using ink, but not MPX.

Yes. You should be able to buy them online, but the fee will eat up your rewards.
