What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is no longer available. It was a charge card (pay balance in full each month), but it has been discontinued and many accounts were converted to Ink Plus cards with the same account numbers.

Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. It allows you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).
What are the best current Ink Plus offers?

The Ink Plus card is no longer available for new applicants. There is a separate thread for The Ink Business Preferred card.

Links for non-targeted Ink Plus 60K offer ($5,000 spend/3 months; annual $95 fee not waived)
There is a report of a 70k offer for the Chase Ink Plus available only through your local Chase Bank office, extended to August 20, 2016. If you recently accepted the 60K offer, you may be able to get the extra 10K simply by asking for it.

There is a no-fee, UR-earning Ink Cash card: https://creditcards.chase.com/ink-bu.../ink-cash-card
Are there are any rules or restrictions to keep in mind when applying for an Ink card?
What is the "5/24" policy?
Are targeted offers exempt from the 5/24 policy?
If my application isn't approved instantly, should I call in?
How can I determine the deadline for meeting the spend requirement to earn the signup bonus?
Once I meet the card's spend requirement, how soon will I receive my signup bonus points?
After being denied, how long should I wait before applying again for the same card?
How long should I wait after closing my card before applying again for the same card?

See the wiki & current discussion at Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward.
Are there special earning categories?
Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)

In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.

NOT ALL Ink cards earn the 5x and 2x bonus categories above. Not "Old Ink Bold" that earns 7,500 bonus points for $25,000 spend, 15,000 points for $50,000, and 25,000 points for $100,000 spend.

What are the rules for transferring UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?
Closing Ink Plus cards
It is possible to pay the annual fee for the Chase Ink Plus business card, then close the account and get a refund of the fee up to 6 months after it was charged. This provides a total of 18 months of earning up to 5X points for free. Make sure your points are transferred out (either to another UR account owned by you or a spouse, or to an air/hotel partner) before you close the account.

Just went to a Chase branch and they said they can't run an in-branch pre-approval for their business cards without the business paperwork. Is this a common practice now or did I get a dud banker?

Chase Ink Plus holders - is Hotels.com is classified as 2x travel?

I know the fine print says "Hotel accommodations when purchased directly with the hotel", but was hoping they'd be lenient. This is for bookings I've paid in full, not the reserve-and-pay-when-I-get-there.

Thanks!

Should be sitting at 5/24, and just applied on a whim for the Ink Preferred as a sole propietorship. Currently just have Ink Bold and Freedom personal card. Went pending.

I remember when I got this last Ink Bold, the idea was not to call, as they would reject it, and just wait on the decision, which was ultimately good.

Is it worth calling for the Ink Preferred? Thinking it will be rejected, and I know I've had success in the past offering to switch credit limits around to accommodate a new card. Not sure if this is still a decent strategy, or just to wait like the last Ink Bold.

Thanks All

Question: If chase wants to shut down your account, would they just shut it down? I received a message from the fraud dept. in the secure message center asking me to call. My recent transactions may look a little suspect so I'm nervous to call. Should I move my UR points?

Looking for a little confidence here.

Nothing to worry about it is a part of their normal process where they ask you to call when they suspect something unusual.

Why might they look "a little suspect"?

hey guys i need some help trying to determine my anniversary date for my Ink Cash. I previously had the Ink Plus last year and the annual fee was due on 4/1/16. I downgraded to the Ink Cash shortly after (i can't remember the exact date) but the annual fee refund posted on 5/18/16. I have maxed out the 5% categories and was expecting the limit to reset on the anniversary date which from reading prior posts should be before the 4/1 anniversary date. However nothing has reset as yet so I am wondering if the downgrade to the Ink Cash pushed the anniversary date further out. I SM'd Chase to ask when my anniversary date was and 1) they initially replied saying the card had no annual fee (bogus response on first reply as reported by others) then 2) I replied asking about the anniversary date and they would replied saying the next Anniversary date is March 21, 2018. Wouldn't this imply that my anniversary date just passed on March 21, 2017 and my 5% bonus categories limit should have been reset? I wanted to ask here before sending another SM to Chase as I would prefer not to have any more scrutinization of my account. Thank you in advance!

So I decided to send another SM to Chase saying "So my anniversary date just passed on March 21,2017?" Their response was

"The anniversary date on your account is in the Month of May every year. The exact anniversary date when the rewards will be reset for the current year is May 21, 2017. I apologize for the incorrect date provided in the previous response."

It is evident they knew I was asking with regards to my annual cap. At this point, I do not want to stir the pot anymore and will just take it as it is.

I got similar answer when I ask when is the anniversary date for the cap to reset - except it is one month different from the answer you got - this is the SM answer I got for my Ink Cash card opened on Aug 2012, after I made them to explain further why instead of Aug, my anniversary date to reset the cap is in Sept?

<<I see that your account was opened on August 14, 2012.
hence, your next anniversary starts on September 13, 2017.
Annually means the year beginning with the account open
date through the first statement after the anniversary of
your account open date, and each twelve billing cycles
thereafter.

"Annually" is referred to the word used in the description of bonus category earning, as in the text below:
<<Rewards cap:
-- 5%: $25,000 annual cap on accelerated earn for net
purchases. Maximum additional point accumulation on net
purchase is 100,000 points annually*

-- 2%: $25,000 annual cap on accelerated earn for net
purchase. Maximum additional point accumulation on net
purchase is 25,000 points annually*

-- 1%: No cap>>

The SM rep answered my question on the Ink Plus did not give the exact dates, but did give the exact words on the bolded part above.

So, due to the clock starts from the 1st statement date, versus the account opening date, the ACTUAL Anniversary Date used by Chase is ONE month AFTER the account open date.

HOWEVER, when I called, the phone rep gave me the account opening date as the anniversary date for the cap calculation purpose.
BUT, I do NOT trust what this rep said as when she read me the benefits of the Ink Cash card, she gave me 3% on Telecom, Office Supplies, Dining, and Home Improvement Stores. This is NOT what my Ink Cash card's benefits are! So I dont think the phone rep even know how to calculate the anniversary date for the Ink cards in general.
