What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is no longer available. It was a charge card (pay balance in full each month), but it has been discontinued and many accounts were converted to Ink Plus cards with the same account numbers.
Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. It allows you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).

Are there special earning categories?Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)
In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.
NOT ALL Ink cards earn the 5x and 2x bonus categories above. Not "Old Ink Bold" that earns 7,500 bonus points for $25,000 spend, 15,000 points for $50,000, and 25,000 points for $100,000 spend.

What are the rules for transferring UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?
See the separate discussions in
Closing Ink Plus cardsIt is possible to pay the annual fee for the Chase Ink Plus business card, then close the account and get a refund of the fee up to 6 months after it was charged. This provides a total of 18 months of earning up to 5X points for free. Make sure your points are transferred out (either to another UR account owned by you or a spouse, or to an air/hotel partner) before you close the account.

Trying to decipher what the "Your Ink Business Bold is now a Ink Plus business CC" letter means if a also have a CSR. I assume I can still pool miles by transferring from the Ink Plus --> CSR, correct? Did anything else change with the Ink Plus for the better? Worse?

They are one in the same. The Ink Classic marketed itself as a UR card. When the Ink Cash came out it marketed itself as a cashback card, however they are in fact UR points that can be combined with the premium cards for transfer just like the Classic, and Freedom cards.

In that case, I'll keep my wife's soon to arrive Ink Cash. I cancelled mine as I thought I'd apply one day for a bonus (or as a downgrade from the new high end Ink, once I'm under 5/24).

Do any Ink cards still give 5x points on utilities? I was getting that with the Plus and then, I think, the Cash (after downgrading from Plus) but don’t seem to be anymore.

5% Cash Back rewards total for each $1 of the frst $25,000 spent each account anniversary year on combined purchases in the following rewards categories: offce supply stores; internet, cable, and phone services (4% additional Cash Back rewards on top of the 1% Cash Back rewards earned on each purchase). This equates to $0.05 in total Cash Back rewards, which is equal to 5 points, for each $1 spent. You may see “5X” in marketing materials to refer to the 5% Cash Back rewards total you earn for each dollar spent in these categories each account anniversary year.

I'm thinking about going after the IBP+ 80k offer, but the card I technically want is Business Cash, with the 5% on internet and 2% on gas. How strict is Chase when it comes to applying for the higher card, then downgrading a few months later? Especially if I'm more of a sole proprietor case rather than a full-fledged business?

Question: I downgraded my old Ink Plus to and Ink Cash about 2 years ago. Have now had Ink Preferred for one year and AF is due. I could downgrade to another Ink Cash (or something else??) or cancel. WWYD? I don't know why I'd keep the Preferred (spouse also has this and so we are covered for the great phone insurance benefit).
