Thanks in advance

Just got my card yesterday (applied thru the 80K link on post #1 last week). Called and confirmed it was 80K points after $1,000 spend in the first 3 months.

Check you inboxes

Got the 80k bonus offer back in Oct. 2012. Have used the card very sparingly since.

Yesterday evening I received an email from Chase offering 1,500 bonus points for spending $1,500 between April 1 & June 30.

Not a very lucrative offer, but might be worth buying 3 VRs to cover the spend. At 0.39 cpp I think I'm a buyer.

Sorry if this was covered already. Just received an email for my free annual night. The 49$ fee will post next cycle. If I cancel the card, can I still use the night? In alternative, if I book a free night, and cancel the card later, but before my stay, will my free night be honored?

Thank you,

PedroNY

Why would you cancel? $49 for a free night each year is a no brainer unless you can't use it.

For example, at a 15,000 points hotel you have the option to do 5,000 points + $70. This transaction appears as buying 10,000 points and redeeming 15,000 points.

In this example will I get back 1,500 points, 500 points, or nothing?

IME this is not correct. It's still counted as a 15k points redemption (where you bought 10k points), and the rebate will be 1.5k.

I signed up using the referral link in the OP and was instantly approved a little over a month ago. Got $9100 CL (already have a CSP card with $15k limit). When I activated the card, I confirmed the 80k promotion was on my account.

My statement closed after only a week, so I only had about $800 spent. Since then, I put another $600+ on the card, so this statement close (next week) should meet the $1k requirement.

My points for the initial spending hit my PC account the day after close, which was nice. But my account is still showing as "Gold" and not "Platinum". Does that take a while to go into effect? I saw some people who got it after their first statement close.

OH, and ironically enough, about a week after getting the card, I received a post card in the mail from Chase. It was inviting me to get the Priority Club card with an 80k bonus after spending $1k in 3 months. I thought that was a bit amusing. But it also shows that this is a current promotion. Also, worst case, if the 80k doesn't show up, I can complain with validity that I should have qualified.

The weird thing was, there was no promotional code or anything to get the points.

FYI - My $1000 spending was completed this billing cycle, which closed yesterday. As of today, I got my 80k points and Platinum status. The 80k actually credit as qualifying points as well.
