Most likely CX is unorganized and does not have enough pilots.... the strategy is clear. lose market share to make a a clear business case for a merger with CA |

Perhaps HX is trying to take away the 1-stop cheap tickets that Scoot and AirAsia are offering instead of directly competing with CX, or HX is aiming for mainland transfer passengers to fill its planes anyway and there won't be many seats left for HK origin traffic..

More helpful would be long overdue moderator action. Too many out lies or misinformation and constantly banging on about the same non-constructive themes.
fully on board. Will the lie that CX group is at 100% 2019 capacity be eliminated as well from this thread? |
Fares are out for SYD:
round trips are about $20k which is just ok (compare to $28k on CX with AP30 or $35k otherwise) but $12k for a one way is competitive - might be willing to take one for the team and give it a go. Timing on the northbound segment also isn't great. Anyone know if HX has proper amenities such as a higher quality duvet, mattress topper, pillow , etc? Nothing on their webiste and I tried to look for reviews and photos online and couldn't find any for the YVR route, only ones from years ago to LAX which showed just a regional style blanket which would be a problem on a overnight flight. |

CX recently is really making good effort to start / up frequencies for regional routes via mainline or uo, which in my opinion is laying the groundwork for additional frequencies / new routes in its long haul network.

I'm completely fine with this myself, but CX really is being dense about things like lounge access. |

I agree; additional UO routes make marginal (demand-wise) longhaul markets slightly more viable.

Fully agree! As a DM, I would rather fly other airlines than flying UO. With these additional benefits, I have no problem flying UO.
It would make the hub so much more powerful. Similar to how 6E provides all benefits and full service based on whattever class ticket bought on QF |
