Long-haul Aria flights will begin when the 3rd 77J (B-KPF) is ready, with London being the first long-haul 77J destination which it will be CX253/254.

Just find it funny that the two responses to Aria I've seen are either "ugh, the space is smaller/more awkward" and "ugh, why isn't it on my route yet??"

DM based in Europe should receive email invitations regarding the roadshows soon

although it isn't great that the foot space advantage in the A350 and old B777 product is kinda gone, it seems like for the better technology and some other pretty cool features, this was inevitable (maybe it could be back in the future if more innovations come forth).

though this makes aria really similar to other new products with doors, the seat really says "modern day business class seat", with nothing much else to make it stand out.

at least premium economy got a really nice upgrade.

Where there any things you liked when trying the new seat?

Or still reckon the current seat is better?

Current seat better for me on a factory-new basis. Except they will age, and will inevitably need to be replaced.

I'm not totally against the new seats. Just put me in the camp of I won't go out of my way to fly the new seats (cf - Qsuites which I still haven't done)

Did a back to back flight in aria

I would say it's because the previous product was so good during it's lifetime (still is to me) the aria has a tough time beating it. The new middle seat partition is a nice touch to avoid those glaring monitors when you are flying st night and your neighbour just left their tv on

But it does feel more cramp foot well wise and lacks storage area compared to the current offering

Having recently taken some QSuites flights for the first time, I must say that they're excellent seats.

Yes Q suite indeed is pretty good. The 777 and a350 ones are nice

Not sure what they call the 787 suites

but it’s a pity that one will always get a former Cathay B777-300ER, with FB2 seats with F on HKG routes by Qatar.

to try out Q Suites, one have to make a detour to SIN

Indeed. Hk route gets the super run down ex cx 777 super super run down is what I remembered

For my usual route to JNB it is for some reason much more affordable going from Singapore or bkk even if I tag a cx ticket from hk to Singapore or bkk (plus they have qatars premium lounges in those 2 airports)

is the stop at SIN or BKK in additional to DOH worth the time and price cost you think ?

personally ? (Coz I don't mind taking my sweet time as I have flexible hours) I don't mind as long as the total cost is less than hkg to sin/bkk and then the QR flight.

Hk on QR is always expensive I think I have only spotted some decent deals pre COVID to Milan not anymore

If I remember correctly the last flight I took using this sin /bkk route I saved some $$$. Just time. You need the extra time and plan it so that you don't need to sleep overnight at a hotel at sin or bkk but enough time that you won't make yourself anxious re missing flights

Depends where you're going I suppose - if it's LHR then your DOH-LHR leg is likely QSuites, so you don't need to double detour via SIN.

Was on the Narita to hk aria flight. Looks like still plenty of problems with those seats / doors

If I'm at CX reading this thread I'd be really alarmed to see people plotting Qatar routes via other cities because Aria has suddenly made their product inferior!
