I was browsing looking at fares to Australia for Mrs P next year but came across this on ba.com Low Price Finder.

ex-UK to Sydney are;

£2999 for 21st Dec-15th Jan in CW. (No cheap F's as far as I can see)

Quite a few options inc QF codeshares on the A380 and a check of the QF site suggests less availability.

BA Economy and WT+ Sale - August 16th 2012 to September 25th 2012

I've left it very late this time - only 7 hours left to book these fares. At least Ive captured the detail though...

Economy and WT+ sale to most BA destinations for travel generally from 10th September 2012 through 12th July 2013. Dates varied depending on destination.

Advanced Purchase of 21 days for WT+ for the Americas and 7 days for everywhere else and WT. Minimum stay Saturday night however if you book Flight+Hotel this can sometimes be avoided.

Extract of full Terms and Conditions from BA at the bottom of this post

North America – most destinations about £10-15 cheaper than last time around. Montreal £100 cheaper in WT this time.

Caribbean and Latin America – very similar fare levels to last time – Grand Cayman and Nassau the exceptions, up £180 in WT+. St Kitts and Grenada down about £50.

Middle East – very similar fares to last time around, some up £30, some down £30. Dubai and Abu Dhabi about £60 cheaper in WT.

South Asia - very similar to last time around

Far East and Oz – very similar to the last sale. HKG and SIN down £100 in WT+.

South Africa – most fares up around £30. MRU up £300 in WT+

Here is a full list of BA long haul destinations and prices for this sale period:

I am using the low price finder as the main source for this data but it's not 100% accurate. If anything is way out please let me know.

u - fare has gone up a reasonable amount from the last sale
d - fare has gone down a reasonable amount from the last sale

ex-LGW Club/First sale August 16th 2012 to September 25th 2012

For completeness, here is a little detail on the ex-LGW Club/First sale. Only a few destinations and same Ts and Cs as in the WT/WT+ sale above.

The ex-LGW destinations to the Caribbean are ~£1600 in Club and ~£2800 in First. Very limited availability to MCO for £1,882

Unless I have missed something, nothing to get too excited about.

Thanks for that, interesting reading.

I was expecting this to drop the ex-eu prices that I was looking at last week (starting in Italy etc.) but those prices have now gone up to more than these sale fares.

Would you expect the ex-eu to drop too reflecting these sale fares or are they independant to them (well obviously not completely - but not improved/ inclusive)?

I would expect ex-EU fares are set to compete with the other airlines there (KLM/LH/etc). When they have a sale BA tend to compete.

If they're bookable for one sector like last time (CW out, F in) for £500 more than the CW fare, then they might be of interest to me, too.

£500 is the most I'll pay for F over CW. And even then it has to be over 9 hours.

Yep, similar to me looking at West Coast as definitely not worth it to me for East Coast.

Haven't had a chance to look, but does it include travel to LAX on the A380?

The fares aren't valid for when the A380 comes in.
